Took an L vs McDermott and ducked Price at domestic level. Had to use steroids to beat Hammer, probably used them for Wlad because who feels the needs to cheat vs a fringe contender but not vs the best guy in the division? Ducked Wlad rematch. He then beat Wilder (who has beat only 2 top 10 opponents) ducked Usyk, was too much of a diva to even get an AJ fight done.

Facing a Chisora he already beat twice and now a guy who is 0-0. Even Fury fans are disappointed. The guy literally had it in his grasp to go down as the GOAT HW if he'd just fought the best available opponents. But he doesn't have the character of somebody like Ali, Louis, Lennox, Foreman, Holmes, Marciano or any of those guys.

And that's the crux and something men emotionally invested in Luke find so hard to accept. This is a man who prioritises money so much he's prepared to put his young family on reality TV when he's already wealthy. A man so emotionally unstable he can't decide whether he's retired or not.

lets be honest, older fighters get a pass on their resume for some reason. Ali, Smokin Joe etc all fought a handful of good fighters but they also fought a LOT of garbage too.

Usyk, Fury etc would get crucified today if they were fighting someone like Wepner, Terry Daniels, Ron Stander, Jean Coopman, Jimmy Young etc..

Some of them is not even like fighting Chisora, more like fighting Dave Allen.

There's a lot of sentiment in boxing but the old timers would get torn apart for their choice of opponents if they lived in the age of social media.

Add the Usyk win to Fury's resume and its about as decent as most of yesteryears beloved fighters in terms of the ratio of good and weak fighters they faced. People just forget all these guys were fighting journeymen the majority of the time
He needs about 5 good wins to leave no doubts.

Styles make fights. That is why you have to beat many contenders to prove you are the best.

Casual fans don't pick up on a lot of basic sh^t. I don't know why there is so much dispute among hardcore fans about Tyson being a bad mfer.

I think a lot of it comes down to how much one enjoys his antics outside the ring.

I think you gotta take those things as two different things regardless if you like his antics or not. For an easy example R Kelly is a fooked up dude away from the mic, but Bump & Grind will never not be a dope ass song.

Not if they also fought each and each of them also fought all of the current top 10 contenders. That's what Ali and Frazier did and that's also what Holmes, Tyson, Holyfield and Lewis did. Wlad Klitschko also fought every top HW during his reign, except his own brother.

I think it's a slightly different situation, because people are more likely to forgive Fury's career choices (lame opponents, retirements, breaks, etc.) if they like him personally. It was similar with Floyd.

I think a lot of ppl do have problems with it. I'm simply saying its an extra step to worry about it as a reason someone is or isn't high level at something.

For a more relevant example Carlos Monzon was one of the best MW's ever, but he murdered a girl. To me him murdering a girl is obv massively fooked up & makes him an awful human being, but in the ring he was still a bad mfer.
