As I said above, some people seem to find this entertaining - I and many others don't.
Human nature at its finest my friend: Thomas Hobbes! If I put you in a room, one side is an electric shock and the other is beer, pizza and dancing girls, I can predict your behavior. If a boxing division presents opportunities for a fighter to do little, and be rewarded, fighters will do little, some less than others... If on the other hand, fighters are obligated, fights can be made, and fans are insistent about what they want... You get a division like when Lennox Lewis ruled the roost.

Fury may be good, bad, entertaining, not entertaining, but he is human and subject to the same laws of action we all are. If Fury could not make a nickel unless he fought Joshua, Usyk, etc... the fight would get made.

I do not disagree with you about Fury. I just feel like all human beings need proper persuasion. Lewis made it personal. He was after legacy. That was really the last time fighters took on the best all the time in the heavyweight division. All the alphabet soup, only helped champs like the Klitskos to fight crap... And now it has come to this. Fighters can just duck each other until the cows come home.

Seems the Fury v Usyk fight will be on in December.

Great news. I wonder how they managed to persuade the IBF to toe the line again? I'm not complaining, just interested!

IBF will get a bigger fee when Usyk faces Fury than if Usyk faces someone else.

Don't think so, sanctioning body fees are capped.

            They are?
I thought they were based on percentages?

            What are they capped at?

It's a percentage until they reach the cap. For example: the WBC, WBA and WBO weren't getting a percentage of the Mayweather - Pacquiao pot because it would be tens of millions. I think the WBC cap is around $200,000, not sure about the others but they will be similar. Probably published on their websites somewhere.

If he beats Usyk and becomes undisputed, he goes down as top 5 best HWs of ALL TIME

                  "Medical Sabbatical"

Tyson Fury is a drugs cheat who famously punched himself in the face.

Okay. I am searching for an article that mentions the cap but I am not finding one.

This article discusses the $200,000 sanctioning fee Floyd Mayweather declined to pay the WBO after the Pacquiao fight: https://bleacherreport.com/articles/...the%20deadline.
