Oleksandr Usyk’s promoter, Alex Krassyuk, has provided yet another downbeat update in the Tyson Fury negotiations. The pair should battling for the undisputed heavyweight championship – arguably the most prestigious title in the sport. Despite the legacy on the line, a fight has failed to materialise in the three months of official negotiations. Yesterday, Fury’s […]
“We initially agreed for 50/50. But then Tyson was asking for some bigger money.”
“So we made it clear that we are ready to go 60/40, but the winner takes 60. That was our latest offer.”
It doesn’t explicitly say they offered 60-40, just implies it by saying they will accept 60-40 on the basis the winner gets it.
Which, again, is a bogus offer that should be pulled up regarding Usyk. Because everyone knows it’s a nonsense offer yet no one seems to want to acknowledge that.

Asked if Fury turned that down, Krassyuk responded ‘yes exactly’ – and offered a theory as to why.
I dont see anything about fury offering usyk 40% for the fight, we made it clear he says, thats for usyk side, it says nothing about fury making anything clear, surely if fury offered 40% to usyk he would have been going mental that it was turned downComment

Of course he turned it down. It’s a bogus offer, it’s not a real offer. They know that no one is ever going to accept that “winner takes 60%” offer hence why it’s a nonsense offer. Yet no one talks about that. Why?

What did Fury offer if he said no to 50-50 but “wants a bigger amount” to which they will “accept 60-40” as long as the winner gets 60?
That tells me that the offer was 60-40.Comment

if fury offered usyk 40% we would have heard about it a million times, thats what i think
warren would have said it too
so all of this happens and then fury turns around and offers 30%, when they have already turned down the flat 40%
if fury offered 40% and they turned it down why would he then demand they take 30%? if someone says no to an offer u dont then offer and even lower amount do u?

I think Warren did say it. Krasuk basically said it, or implied it. And I’m pretty sure Warren said it.

Fury “offered” 70-30 because it was a bogus offer. Just like Usyk’s 60-40 to the winner was and just how Usyk “accepting” it on the condition they make a donation to Ukraine was.
It’s all game playing and fake offers. But for some reason only Fury gets pulled up for it.Comment

I just told you I’m not even a Fury fan, you melt.
I just call it how I see it, and more than willing to have a dialogue on it unlike you who can’t.
I don’t even blame Usyk either. I blame both equally.Comment

When one considers all the stipulations, the promoters and what they want, and all the other sordid details, it becomes a never ending rabbit hole. But it stands to reason, even the best and fiercest competitors look in the mirror, have families... want to define their careers on their own terms. Usyk has to know that Fury is a lot to handle... the man has two arses! but seriously, getting past Fury's reach and tactics would be very difficult for Usyk. The stiff Croat is a much more manageable proposition that is pretty much a fact.

So in one sense, what we hear about contracts, and other such things, are not germaine to what common sense, what Aristotle called "Horse Sense," can tell us. Put oneself in Usyk's position: Who would you rather face? and what amount of money would make it feasible to fight Fury?Comment
