Some peoples minds don’t understand fighting for LEGACY. Right now, Benny has nothing to offer but lite heavyweight and cruiser weight champions do. I don’t see Benividas challenging those guys. Do you? And he SHOULDNT. Why? Cause he’s at the beginning of being a professional fighter. He needs to fight for all the major belts. Once he does that he should move up a weight class and take those belts and so on.
Canelo is at the END OF HIS CAREER and you know it.

Only a casual or **** rider thinks picking up a belt from a 40 year old cherry pick adds any legacy of substance. Its phony legacy.

You what would though? Taking on a killer in his own division that everyone wants to see, and finally proving whos the real top dog at 168. What did Ryder do for his legacy, please tell is all. What did the Bivol fight do for his legacy considering he already had won a belt at LHW? That was a ducking cherry pick also which backfired.

          How old are you 12?
Rider was a tune up period.
Every fighter does tune ups. Look at the Charlos, Andrade and Tank. Been doing tune ups their whole career.
Im not sure what the 40 year old is all about.
It must be nice to live in your 12 year old world.

The egg hasn't been laid yet, but we all know Canelo is not interested in fighting Benavidez. He doesn't have many options to save face if he doesn't fight Benavidez next though.

John Ryder has a better resume than Benavidez. He may have lost to them, but that's better than snorting yourself out of a championship or eating your way out of one too.

I don't understand why this is even debatable. Yes, he has been ducking David Benavidez for years. Every boxing fan knows that. Saul Canelo Alvarez would never challenge Benavidez. He's too afraid of losing to another Mexican fighter. He will probably retire before ever fighting "The Mexican Monster".

He's at the end of his career and he still hasn't cleaned out his division, and he's not looking to face the top guys in the other divisions either. If he wants legacy, and he's not going to take ou he should target the top guy at cruiserweight, or the winner of Beterbiev v Callum Smith, so he can force the rematch with Bivol on his terms. That would be daring to be great. Cherry picking Badou Jack just isn't. That would be like rematching Mayweather now, or fighting Spence, or like Inoue or something.

Umm, Jack just won the WBC belt. You think Canelo might be interested in that belt?
