Green? No. Still a prospect? Yes. The problem is, I feel no different about Jones. Green? No. Still a prospect? Yes. Both hadn't hit their primes yet.Comment

sorry didnt mean to sound mean"You want to talk about flashiness and athleticism"
This is your way of discrediting? Proving Bernards career is better? Because Roy was "flashy" and Bernard was boring?
You don't see me saying... well, Bernard was boring so, that pretty much makes Roy better.
Bull**** reasoning and elementary debate.
......................lol.............BHOP'S legacy better than RJJ imo.......................lets just agree to disagree..............

Well, while we are debating resume's and facts, you can stick to your rap jokes and flashy debates. If that's what you got, then sure, we can agree to disagree.Comment

Yeah true but I think the point is that the victory, while a good one (I'm not disregarding it by any means), is not indicative of what the outcome of a prime Jones Jnr vs. a prime B-Hop would be and therefore shouldn't be used as the deciding factor in these Hopkins - Jones debates.
Also when talking about them being youngsters at the time you gotta take into consideration that Roy's style lends it's self to youth, while B-Hop's was one that was only ever gonna sweeten with age. I think that Roy is a better reflection of Jones Jnr's ability than that Bernard is a reflection of Hopkins' eventual ability. The fight happened the better part of a decade before I believe Hopkins begun the peak of his career and ability, while Jones Jnr was significantly closer to becoming pretty much as good as he'd ever be.Comment

Who is using it as a deciding factor? I'm not. But it's a notch for Jones, a fairly big one.Yeah true but I think the point is that the victory, while a good one (I'm not disregarding it by any means), is not indicative of what the outcome of a prime Jones Jnr vs. a prime B-Hop would be and therefore shouldn't be used as the deciding factor in these Hopkins - Jones debates.
I agree with some of what you said, disagree with others but either way, I'm not sure how this affects the debate at all. And quite frankly, while Jones was at his physical peak around 95-96, he had it all together from 97 till about 2001. So no, I don't think he was significantly closer than Hopkins who seemed to be at his peak around 1997-2000.Also when talking about them being youngsters at the time you gotta take into consideration that Roy's style lends it's self to youth, while B-Hop's was one that was only ever gonna sweeten with age.
