Never, Hopkins will always be in Jones' shadow.

I love Roy and respect him immensely but IMO I just think when it's all said and done, Hopkins will be higher up on the all time list.

Not to mention Jones also made 19 defenses of various titles himself, including 11 at LHW where he unified all three belts almost right away.

Well you can think whatever you want to think, I can't dispute that.

well its a weight jumper versus a very consistent champion.....................and The tail end of Roy's career will damage his legacy ............BHOPS wins this.............imo..............

We can compare what Bernard has done from 35-45 to what Roy did from 35-45.... as long as we can compare what Roy did from 20-30, to what bernard did from 20-30.

Like I said, Jones career consists of his 20's and early 30's... Hopkins career consists of his 30's and early 40's.

You can't just give all credit to who last longer, what about who got there first?

A weight jumper who was also a consistent champion would be a better description of Jones. No, he didn't stay in one division forever but 11 defenses of a unified title is no small potatoes. Furthermore, Hopkins gained that MW title because Jones dropped it...after he beat him. Do you knock Jones for wanting to move up a division to face the best fighter between 160-175 and arguably in the world? No, that makes no sense.

Roy's legacy is greater and he's done at the top. Historians always give you a pass for that (and rightfully so). This is a dumb thread.
