I don't agree. Jones shouldn't be penalized for not staying in a division for over 10 years. It's an accomplishment for Hops but I think Jones trumps him with the who and when.

Roy Jones has his "shot" disclaimer whereas Hopkins doesn't really since whooping Pavlik

Roy gets more from a win and loses less from a loss. Bernard just has the satisfaction of beating his arch-rival and whatever monetary reward this brings to gain.

Prime for prime Jones is better, but all round career wise Hopkins is better.
I disagree, it's what you do IN your career, period.

Jones career consisted of his 20's and early 30's... Hopkins career consisted of his 30's and early 40's.

Hopkins has more star names on his resume, but most of them had to come up in weight... Jones has less star names, but he went up in weight to beat all of them.

It's not so clear and cut as you've stated... Roy has broken his own records in his career.

It's not beating John Ruiz... it's coming from being a middleweight champion to do it.

IMO, Roy is always going to be greater win or lose. He took risks and still has respectable names on his resume. As people have said, the names on Hopkins' resume have had to come up in weight to fight him which is far easier than moving up.

Doesn't matter, Hopkins has a good resume as well and he has defended his title for over a decade. Not an easy feat.

Hopkins > Jones all day long.

I disagree. Jones has greater accomplishments IMO and beat better fighters. Hopkins has lasted longer but he was in his 30's when he defeated his first really good fighter. The age evens out.

Jones went 10 straight years either winning a title at a new weight class or defending that title himself... including being hailed as the fighter of the decade.

Bernard may have 20 MW title defenses... Roy was the first MW champion to win a HW title in over 100 years.
