B-hop wont leave 160, that his downfall, because legacy wise, Jones portrays a better resume.
Where were the fundementals and ring smarts to fall off of once his speed and reflexes slowed down? Hopkins adjusted his game and kept on learning new tricks as he slowed in his 30s and continues to be successful, that in its own is a mark of greatness. Prime for prime Jones is better, but all round career wise Hopkins is better.

        No........

And if Bernard loses it wouldn't improve RJJ's resume much...

Yes whoever wins has a better legacy. If they don't fight Hopkins probably has a better legacy anyway since he never been knocked out and had a great 2nd half career.

Look, Im a huge Hopkins fan and I think he woudve given Hagler hell but I think its pretty clear for most people that RJ will be remembered as better no matter what. There are some who dont like RJ much and will maybe put Hopkins above but I dont think many will. Its true that you can argue that Hopkins was more complete, more this, more that, but it doesnt matter in this case because RJ was that special. He didnt have to be fundmentaly sound and complete because he had things that hardly anyone in history had while Hopkins was more just like everyone else in boxing but he just did it better. Some guys are special. Hopkins wasnt, RJ was. Again, I think Hopkins is a beast, an ATG, and would give all the greats hell, including Hagler but RJ will be seen as better.

The thing you have to remember is Hopkins had his chance. Im not talking about the 1st loss, Im talking about the rematch that shouldve happened after the Tito fight. Both were close to there primes and I actually think that Hopkins may have beat him if they had fought but he was a fool when it came to negotating so everyone will give RJ the benefit of doubt. That by itself will make RJ be remembered as greater. He shouldve made the fight and if he won then he would probably be considered as greater

You're just getting caught up by flash. Jones wasn't all that. He was always scared to get hit and now we know why. Plenty of people think Hopkins is better but you seem to think you speak for the whole world.

I'm afraid not, unless Jones comes to fight and shows he has plenty left and Hopkins wins. Which is just not the case so no.
