Brook and Porter were both in their prime. Brook got stopped at 160 because he was chasing greatness, as you guys like to say for Cinnabon. He challenged GGG, the fighter no one wanted to face in that division, and moved 2 weight classes up to fight him. There's a huge difference between 160 and 147. Before the GGG fight Brook was undefeated, and by the time Spence fought him in 2017, Brook was the IBF champion and Ring magazine ranked him as the top welterweight in the world.

Porter was the WBC champion and only had one loss to Thurman when Spence fought him. When Crawford fought them, they both were on their last lap before retirement. Spence fought the 3 current champions and took their straps, and former champions, there's no comparison.

I admire your dedication. Brook muscled up two weight classes and looked for all the world like he might pull off the upset. Dared to be great, absolutely!

Unfortunately he took heavy damage and in the end couldn’t continue. Only about 8 months later and more than 10 pounds lighter, after having a metal plate put in his face to hold things together, he was in the ring again facing Errol Spence. You are trying to sell this version of Brook as a great win for Spence. I don’t see how anyone is supposed to buy this.

That may be so, the reality is, Brook held a belt and being belt holder gives you leverage so Spence went to the UK to get the belt.
It is exactly the same thing with Crawford’s fringe belt. Crawford beat Jeff Horn who LOST to Pacqiao and let’s face it, Horn is no where close to Brook. Horn is a flash in a pan kind of boxer that will be forgotten.
All things being equal, Spence proceeded to unify three belts at WW. Only one belt left. The only fight to make is Spence vs Crawford.

It does not happen. The next best option is Boots or Ortiz. Crawford knows this and to be fair Spence knows this as well.

Crawford goes on to face Avanesyan. We knew how that fight would play out. Crawford is back, the best option is still Boots or Ortiz, Crawford is now looking at Rocha.

Now, when will Crawford fight Boots or Ortiz. Those are the two top WW contenders. Crawford has said he’ll fight three times this year so there is no reason to duck those guys.

I don’t how to respond to someone who attributes everything he’s ever heard that he disagrees with to me. Anyway, to reiterate, Spence and Crawford have mediocre resumes at WW. One is no better than the other. Crawford may have a few more light touches recently but that’s only because he’s still an active fighter, Spence’s last fight was Ugas. Apparently it takes a long time to get Haymon to sign a permission slip.

In that case, let’s use your very logic - Spence (or Boots) should fight Cody Crowley. He is 21-0 and is in the top 10 WW ranking. What do you think of that fight?
Let’s give it context, I had no idea who Crowley was until I googled ESPN ranking. It was the same with Avanesyan and Rocha.

This and of course, fighting Brook and Khan compounds and boxing purist to knock on Crawford’s resume.

One more context, prior to the failed drug test, Connor Benn was in the top 10 WW, what would your reaction be if Spence fought him? Would it be the same reaction if it was Crawford who fought him? See where I’m getting at?
