He could have fought Ortiz voluntarily just like he did Avanesyen. He wasn't mandated to fight the crash dummy, Avanesyen, he chose him.

Don't believe Rocha is ready for a guy like Crawford, but it's hard to turn down a title shot against arguably the best fighter in the world knowing he might not get another opportunity or experience like this again. He's still young so win or lose, it's a valuable experience for him to carry into future fights.
