I've been a fan for over thirty years but yes, it's bad. No one will take on any real challenge. You rarely see guys fight at all and t's never a 50/50 fight. I saw a video the other day talking about how Usyk has been the underdog in a few of his fights and will be against Fury if the fight happens. Mayweather was never the underdog. Haha. That's beyond ridiculous. Of course, the sport is still making money somehow. They'll do what they want until the money dries up. Who knows when that will be? Tank Davis is fighting today but does anyone think he's at threat of losing here? No. I mean, showcasing is only good for a minute. Guys have to take risks to get any respect. And of course, no one is respected because no one takes any risks. It's awful right now.

It's the worst I've seen it and I've followed the sport for decades and decades.

It's a sport where one man fight another, yet, none of the best guys ever fight each other.

Two guys in the Top 10 fighting each other is rare.

          It's sad.

Pretty much the whole top 10 in the heavyweights fought another top 10 fighter in 2022.

              Ruiz/Ortiz
              Fury/Whyte
              Joshua/Usyk
              Parker/Joyce
Wilder and Dubois were coming off big defeats.

You were all warned repeatedly during PBC’s inception. Warned before that on Haymon’s practices. The sport does indeed really suck right now. Has since 2015, when Mayweather managed to win the FOTD for fighting half a decade because PBC blocked all the fights for the second half of that decade.

When Floyd went to showtime. That’s when the side of the street was born.

And you're talking like this is some kind of big thing?

It should be totally standard procedure.

How many other weight classes did this happen in?

This sport is on the verge of death until all these promotional companies cease to exist and the PPV model re-worked.

The only spark of interest the sport has is a potential Benevidez vs Canelo fight, and some of the 135-140lb potential fights, and they are in no rush to fight.

Basically just taking easy fights for $ until a cash grab and a retirement plan.

Everytime I see a potential fight it's always "we'll fight in 2024, well fight in two years". It's disgraceful.

I've been watching boxing for damn near 25 years and a hardcore fan. Spent more money on tickets than you can imagine but it's at its lowest point right now. Something needs to change - and fast!
there are literally no mainstream stars that transcend the sport.

                    NONE.

                    canelo aint it.

i respect him and his accomplishment but he cant speak english and has no personality that comes across the american audience because he cant speak english.

fury could have been it but he doesnt fight enough.

i mean who are we left with?

loma is a great technical boxer, but he cant speak english so his personality cant come across like canelo.
                    ryan garcia?

                    barf.

crawford is probably the best but doesnt want to fight anybody with a pulse.

                    the sport lacks superstars.

It’ll change when these network executives see the steady decline in ppv numbers. Ive been watching more UFC cards lately they actually stack their cards.

Ortiz Stanionis was the best match up of 2023 and its post poned
