    Hopkins.

He has a much better resume, pretty even accomplishments and intangables and obviously BHop takes longevity hands down. All Floyd has is a slight advantage defencively but Bhop is a miles better offencive fighter when he lets his hands go.

Not that floyd has a bad resume it's just not nearly at BHops level.

I give the edge to Floyd.

Hopkins' achievements are nothing short of amazing, especially what he's still able to accomplishment deep into the twilight of his career.

However, I feel he's given too much credit for his MW reign. A ten-year run is amazing at any weight, but so too is going undefeated over the course of a career spanning five weight classes (though 154 was one and done, and with serious doubt that he ever returns).

Bernard has the more notable wins, but not necessarily the better ones. Floyd has left more than a few fights on the table during his stay at welterweight, but also never struggled with guys like Segundo Mercado and Robert Allen.

The only fight you can argue that Floyd didn't deserve to win was the first one with Castillo. Even at that, most would've been fine with a draw, and the issue wasn't so much Floyd winning, but by the margin of victory provided by the judges.

What Hopkins has accomplished in the twilight of his career is what makes this such an interesting debate. But had his career ended after the second Taylor fight - or even after the DLH fight, for that matter - I'm not sure we're even having this conversation.

diego corrales at 130 and jose luis castillo at 135 by themselves trumps beating tito at 160 , oscar at 160 , pavlik at 170 , winky at 170 and tarver at 175.

guys that trump the quality of hopkins opponents just go for brand name.

          big names ain't everything.

how many of you clowns even realize that diego corrales was near the top of the p4p list and was even ranked higher than mayweather at 130 at the time mayweather beat him?

Pavlik and B-Hop were the same damn size. You have every reason to argue about Winky but the DLH fight took place at a catch weight of 156. DLH's a natural Jr MW...so what do you say then?

Jake, what about everything Floyd left on the table at 140? What about the argument that you can make an argument that Floyd hasn't taken a tough challenge since the Castillo rematch. Is there a 7 year span in Bhop's career where he had such a de****able record of dodging his toughest challenges.

I would also argue that BHOP struggled with lesser fighters as he was still developing. Plus, he still won those fights in the long run. Stepping up to Tarver and fighting a young gun like Jermaine are things floyd has yet to accomplish in his career.

                  I don't think its close

Hopkins, resume, fighting ability is very close, and Hopkins is able to compete on the top of the sport with slower reflexes.

Tarver was rated high in the P4P lists also. Mayweather was great at 130-135, but to say that he is great at 147 would be a lie.
