Great matchup with lots of variables. Can Ruiz avoid the right? Can Wilder keep Ruiz on the outside? I said it before in another thread. Ruiz will need to be perfect for 12 rounds to avoid that right but Wilder only has to be perfect for 10 seconds… That eraser right hand is the key to this matchup… Can Wilder land it flush? Can Ruiz avoid it for 12 rounds? I like Ruiz but I expect a Wilder win by KO…

Ruiz will win rounds but will lose the fight because he is fat and can't get out the way of punches.

He should put down the carnitas and carne asada for 3 months and try his best to decrease the layer of fat around his torso.

This is a really interesting fight. The good thing is if Andy dont take boxing serious, Wilder will put him to sleep very early. I see Wilder winning by ko but Andy still has a chance to land on Wilder

I just don't see Ruiz winning but would like to be surprised.
I wouldn't be surprised either he has that explosive burst that can be very quick for a lanky unbalanced guy like Wilder, he doesn't want to hang around too long though, or a bomb will probably land.

Once u have been chin checked real hard twice like he has, it can definitely be checked again. At this point, he's just another Marcellus Wilder with more punching power. Andy will hit his chin with full Mexican power and Wilder will come with conspiracy theories out the wazoo. He'll say Andy ate a burrito with EPO, and chimichangas with testosterone. He'll say Andy gave him an autopsy and a knot on his brain caused by soaking his hands in beef brine like Jack Dempsey used to do. Then he'll blame Malik Scott for spiking his chitt'lins with fix a flat

I respect them both. Great fighters. My father was a boxer. I was a ringside physician in Nevada for several years. I am a lifelong student of the sweet science. Anything can happen. Both pack a punch. Here is what each must do to win. Ruiz needs to fight inside. keep his head on Wilder's chest. Don't give him punching room. Fight like Frazier or Tyson. Rough, inside. Upper cuts and hooks. Cut off the ring and get in close asap. Wilder is tall and has long arms. Doesn't fight inside well. Ruiz absolutely cannot stay outside and let Wilder connect with his monster right hand or he will get KO'd. Wilder needs to keep Ruiz at a distance with his jab and throw his bombs. If he can keep Ruiz outside, he should win. If Ruiz can get inside and get Wilder on the ropes, he has the power to take him out. Fight will not go the distance. If Ruiz can get in tight, he wins. If not Wilder wins.

Wilder will land that right hand but it won't ko ruiz. Wilder has koed people with 1st right hand he lands but not everyone.
I can see ruiz winning, and think he will. Not 100% sure, but there's a 50% chance and if I have to pick one!

Yes you’re right, and people conveniently forget that. They also forget that he threw an absolute right hand laser that practically deformed Arreola’s skull for a split-second, followed by his classic left hook. Wilder was so sure he had the knockout that he threw his gloves up, but Arreola just shook his head in the Mayweather style. I posted that clip recently, but no one said anything.
