The only guy who ever beat Wilder was able to take Wilder’s punches, get up after tremendous knockdowns, and return to battle. I don’t see Ruiz being able to do that. Fury did it only because of his massive size. Even then, he said Wilder gave him a concussion. Ruiz isn’t quite big enough to withstand it like Fury did. If he ever gets tagged solid, it’s over. Upsets happen, of course, and anything’s possible in the ring, but I think it’ll be Wilder with his hand raised.

Getting Breazeale'd is much better for your health long term than absorbing punishment for many rounds.
Regardless, Wilder just needs a jab like he utilised against Stiverne and Arreola to beat Ruiz Jr.Comment

Wilder will hurt and stop ruiz. Ruiz is good fight, deserving of the top 10, but outside of Joshua 1, has Ruiz really ever looked "that" good?

I was thinking size was the only thing that could defeat Wilder. But that is ******. If that were the case, you would have to argue that all of the all time greats, or we’ll schooled boxers of earlier generations would have all been beat by Wilders power. Wilder is underrated in his boxing ability. But he is overrated with his power. In many eras Wilder would have never made it past the gatekeeper level. Unfortunately boxing fundamentals have eroded greatly in recent eras. We mistake good boxers in weak eras as being the best a boxer can be. At one time avoiding hay makers and wild onslaughts were the bare basics of being a decent boxer. It was said, “If you get hit by that punch, you deserve it.”Last edited by Casualfanboy; 11-10-2022, 03:08 AM.Comment

This fight needs to be made now, it's irritating all these boxing fans think wilder wins.
Boxing fans don't respect fighters wins for beating fighters coming off of losses, so if ruiz beats wilder, it's like ruiz wont get respect. But if everyone picking wilder to win, surely ruiz should get respect? And why is everyone picking fighter coming off loses to win?Last edited by hugh grant; 11-10-2022, 07:23 AM.Comment

Great matchup with lots of variables. Can Ruiz avoid the right? Can Wilder keep Ruiz on the outside? I said it before in another thread. Ruiz will need to be perfect for 12 rounds to avoid that right but Wilder only has to be perfect for 10 seconds… That eraser right hand is the key to this matchup… Can Wilder land it flush? Can Ruiz avoid it for 12 rounds? I like Ruiz but I expect a Wilder win by KO…

So easily that his face was mush and his chin has been permanently cracked since then?
Getting Breazeale'd is much better for your health long term than absorbing punishment for many rounds.
Regardless, Wilder just needs a jab like he utilised against Stiverne and Arreola to beat Ruiz Jr.
For all intents and purposes Duhaupas was absorbing most/all of the blows to the forehead with his chin tucked in hence why the only damage he really took was to the bridge of his nose and why Wilder never dropped his ass.
Due to how basic Wilder is and his team they just couldn't figure out nor get past such basic defence.Last edited by Boro; 11-10-2022, 08:22 AM.Comment

Wilder can win this fight ether by stoppage or over the distance 'If he is in top condition'.
The only area's where Ruiz Junior is superior are his combination punch ability, and punch variation in his mid range to inside game.
Wilder has greater endurance, greater one punch power, better jab. And although his movement is kind of off balance and all over the place 'I would rate his movement better than Ruiz Junior's as well'.
So this fight is stylistically more difficult than people anticipate for Ruiz Junior etc.Comment
