I love James but Beterbiev would hurt him over 12 real bad, he might not stop him because of James's chin and toughness but Beterbiev's style is all wrong for James.
What does Iceman John Scully think? He used to spar with Toney and now he is one of the trainers for Beterbiev

How dare anyone say an old-school skilled fighter could hang with an Eastern European and I'm a fan of Beterbiev but the nerve of me.

      Mike McCallum
      Michael Nunn
      Roy Jones Jr
      Montell Griffin
      Evander Holyfield

There are a few others. How dare any of these guys would fight Beterbiev or beat anyone on Beterbiev's resume?

Tony was an absolute bum for his era, bum I said!

Not sure why you would mention Roy Jones who he was totally dominated by and Montel Griffin who he lost to twice.

Not sure why you would mention shot Holyfield’s corpse either.

He didn’t stop McCallum, who arguably beat him twice and was a Jr Middleweight.

Stopped Nunn in a fight he was losing clearly.

What exactly is your argument here?

Problem that Toney would have on the inside is that Beter short punching is very strong, Beter throws those thudding 1 inch punches.

I just want to remember Toney calling out "David Gay" and "The Bitchko Sisters" while he was at heavyweight

Seriously, as much as I had fun watching him fight, I think Beterbiev would catch him at some point. Toney was class, but on a sheer physical pressure level Beterbiev looks superhuman at times.

On the other hand, Toney could catch Beterbiev as well with some well-placed counters, but I'm not sure he would manage to finish him.

I actually think Toney out boxed him just what he did to Vassily Jirov

Toney`s best weight is 160 or 168. At 175 he was fat. At cruiserweight - heavyweight he was extremely fat.

So, yes, I do believe Beterbiev would beat him at 175.

Montel Griffin lost to Eric Harding and was stopped by Dariusz but defeated Toney twice. I don't think Toney is anything like out of Beterbiev's league. It would be an epic fight with an unknown outcome.

Maybe people overrate "ATG fighters". Didn˙t Bivol just beat future ATG fighter?
