There are a lot of guys out there that would lose to Anderson Silva, not just JCC Jr.

Silva has 4 pro boxing fights on his record to go with the 46 pro MMA fights, the lifetime of Muay Thai and Taekwondo training, and 1 pro Muay Thay fight. Silva also trained and sparred only boxing for over two years after his gruesome leg injury, even when he was back in camp for MMA fights, because he didn't trust the leg in kickboxing or MMA sparring.

Silva would be favored against Jake Paul, more than likely.

The point is that Silva is just as much of a boxer as Paul.

They have similar amounts of boxing experience but Silva also has the lifetime of MMA and kickboxing training on top of it. It's not like Silva was a wrestler who got into MMA like Woodley. Silva is a world class striker who has proven he can go the 8 round distance without gassing, unlike Paul who looked half dead before he iced Woodley.

UFC did a phenomenal job of selling a fighter with 16 losses to the casual MMA public, which they gladly ate up.

A lot of that was down to him personally though rather than UFC marketing. He was the B side and underdog against Till in the UK and also against Askren. You cant manufacture someone sprinting across the cage, throwing a flying knee and KOing someone in 5 seconds flat.
