Nobody looks eager to fight Williams exept for Martinez and Dzinziruk.

      (a) Mosley was not a Welterweight at that time, and (b) he didn't want to get in the way of his boss, De La Hoya, who wanted to fight Mayweather.

That is simply not comparable with Floyd trying to avoid fighting any of the top fighters in his own division.

Williams is not rated at Welterweight, and Mosley is fighting Clottey, who is ranked higher than Berto.

He moved up two entire weight divisions and won the title at Welterweight against the P4P #2 at the time. You can't rationally criticise him for doing that. He has fought at Welterweight or higher ever since.

And it's also extremely hypercritical to criticise him for wanting just one big payday to cash in against Pac, now he's getting near the end of his career. Floyd has had several huge paydays, Mosley hasn't had one. And he's not trying to get a fight with Pac instead of fighting top fighters in his own division, he's trying to get a fight with Pac as well as fighting top fighters in his own division.

Floyd will get zero respect from any neutral boxing fans until he stops finding reasons to not fight the top fighters in his own division, and his ATG status will also be severely damaged unless he changes his attitude.

            Dave,

Why are you being so selective with the rankings? Everybody talks about how the rankings are often a joke. But you are giving them a great deal of credibility right now. Possibly because it suits your position. maybe.

Paul Williams said he would take any fight from 147 to 160. He offered SM a fight. Shane said "I will not fight him". But SM wanted to fight Ricky Hatton..

Shane Mosley wanted to fight Ricky Hatton or Manny Pacquiao instead of either Paul Williams or Andre Berto. That is a fact, champ.

Clottey lost his last fight. Berto is a unification.

Please please Please stop with the rankings. We all know the rankings are often nonsensical. Antonio Margarito is in the rankings, and he isn't even allowed to fight.

Im not calling Floyd scared, but it sounds to me like he's doing everthing possible to discredit Shane and avoid fighting him, what ever his reasons.

Floyd's reasoning is that Shane doesn't bring enough money. And SM on his resume at this point wouldn't do that much for his career.

I'm talkiing about The Ring's rankings and to a lesser extent, boxrec's rankings. I have never heard anyone call them a joke, never. Especially The Ring's rankings.

He lied. He was offered a fight against Clottey and turned it down.

And Mosley was not trying to fight Hatton.

And Clottey is ranked higher than Berto because Berto has never beaten anyone. He barely screaped by Collazo, who is a gatekeeper. And that was his biggest win. He also looked bad against Urango, who is not even elite at Jnr Welterweight.

Coming off a very close and fairly controversial loss against the #2 Welterweight enhanced Clottey's standing, it didn't harm it at all.
