Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa in Atlantic City, N.J. - Gary Russell Jr. (31-2-1, 18 KOs) has had a history of injuries and inactivity. Everything caught up with him on Saturday night, when he lost his WBC featherweight title by way of a twelve round majority decision to undefeated mandatory challenger Mark Magsayo (24-0, 16 KOs).

The judges did not know he was even 6 fights in 7 years you deserve to lose your title not a boxer

Mark won the fight imo but the fact that mark got a majority decision against a one armed boxer shows me he should avoid a rematch with Gary at all cost.

GRJ showed a lesson of boxing with 1 arm.

Mag showed him a lesson of being professional boxer across a year and how it pays back.

Should've had a rematch clause Champ! You did enough with one hand to guarantee that won't happen! Now go tell Al Haymon you want Brandon Figueroa or Stephen Fulton!

I thought Magsayo won the fight, but if that's all he can do to a fighter that fought three fourths of the match with one hand, then his title will be gone soon

I give GRJ credit for making the fight relatively close considering he only had a left hand for about 9 rounds. Some of that was assisted by the limitations of his opponent.

That being said, he didn't win the fight. If he was that injured leading up to it, he should have bailed out of the matchup. His supreme self confidence let him down in this one.

lol next thing he's going to say is "everybody's ducking me!" The guy lives in a fantasy world where he didn't lose to Loma and beat Magsayo. Personally, I thought Magasyo was winning before Russell Jr injured his arm. It would have been interesting to see what would have happened if Gary wasn't injured. No rematch clause with a mandatory, though. Get back in line. Haymon wasn't helping you get fights before. I doubt he'll help you now.

This sounds very similar to Adrien Broner's "I beat that boy comment:" How delusional and insane is that? No, you lost the fight Gary by a very wide margin and it wasn't even close.
