It’s the glory of winning and becoming a champion that is the big deal in a boxing match. The money should be even split in all fights.
both men can get very hurt so why should one get more than the other? They all say they should be paid a lot of money for what they do, so why should an opponent of this mindset receive any less?
looks to me like fury could be scared? In weighing up the risk, I guess a scared person will price himself out (likely happening here) but the WBC belt should be on the line for whytes challenge to whoever. Fury ain’t no Larry Holmes, Tyson, Lewis. He’s just a fat ***** that beat the same bloke twice and had no defences to anyone. Whyte is number one contender so get on with it and don’t get involved with who gets what. Fight under t(w obligation the champion has. Or give it up, simple!
the fighter that makes no effort to market themselves should earn the same as those who do?
You think Bob and Frank are going to play nice with Eddie and come to some sort of agreement...NOPE! They will allow it to go to Purse Bid knowing that no matter what their fighters gets the Bigger Split. If Whyte pass then he will just loses out on a Title Shot simple as that so they don't care.
We were on stand by for whyte ducking another ordered fight...when hearn is using terms like an abrupt end you know he wants to duck.
B side do not get to make demands this is lost on hearn.
I guess you're new around here because You just don't know how this boxing negotiations work huh?
I think Fury and Usyk would be competitive, Fury more so because of his size and reach, but I’d have both as noticeable underdogs against the likes of Holyfield, early 90s Mike Tyson, Rid**** Bowe, Ray Mercer and Lennox Lewis. I’d have them more competitive against the lower top-10 like Witherspoon and Tucker, but even then I wouldn’t have them as clear favourites. Neither would have the power to back these fighters up, all of whom had equal stamina and chins.
Holyfield was a bigger, stronger, more powerful and at least an equally skilled version of Usyk, and was himself beaten by Bowe and Michael Moorer. Given Usyk’s struggles against Chisora, can you imagine him fending off the likes of Bowe and Mercer? I’d throw in Moorer to beat him too, and I reckon Fury would struggle with the southpaw as well - taking fights with Wallin and Steve Cunningham into account.
The guy who said Fury wipes out all of them, except maybe for Lewis, and that Usyk beats them all as well is an absolute tool.
Lol Fury underdog against the formidable Ray Mercer who in his prime lost to journeyman Jesse Ferguson? And drew with an actual bum. Never mind losing to a version of Larry Holmes that had no business still boxing. So if you want to pinpoint certain fights where today’s fighters didn’t look great as the reason they would lose to the 90’s guys, let’s look at the 90’s fighters performances. We just started with Mercer who was supposedly near his prime and losing and drawing with journeymen.
Oliver McCall was no great fighter, a decent contender really but he iced Lennox Lewis. You’ve never seen Fury or Usyk get laid out like that against B or C level fighters of the time. McCall lost to some nobodies before knocking Lewis out. Imagine Fury or Usyk getting knocked out by a fighter with about 5 losses to bums? That would be even worse than them getting knocked out by someone like Breazeale.
Mike Tyson got knocked out by fringe contender Buster Douglass. Probably like getting knocked out by Takam or someone today, that sort of level.
Bowe was struggling badly with Golota before that idiot kept getting himself DQ’d, Golota was no great fighter.
See how easy this is? You can pick holes in anyones resume if you have an agenda.
It will be nice seeing Tyson in there with someone that can actually box. The Wilder Fury Trilogy took up a lot of time and didn't really show much in terms of a boxing match between two professionals.

The problem with your assessment is making the comparison of what you classify today’s B/C with 90’s B/C and to that there is no comparison. 90’s B/C or what you say are B/C then would probably be all contenders today no question. The talent difference is vast.

Usyk is actually a naturally bigger man than Holyfield, and probably has more natural strength too. The cruiserweight limit was only 190lbs during Holyfield's reign. He needed steroids to build himself up to around 210/215 to fight the likes of Tyson, Bowe and Lewis. Usyk was coming in at similar weights after cutting down to 200lb to make CW.

The talent deference isn’t vast
Athletes simply get better over time and that’s pretty much proven in every sport where it can be proven by distance or time or any definite measurement, apart from one off very unique athletes, but not spanning across a whole era of athletes.
If you think somehow that does not apply to boxing then you are very naive.
Athletes today are simply better
Also, laughable you think Holyfield was as skilful as Usyk. His defence was poor at times. In this era of giants, he would probably get flattened.
