but heres what happens....bud stays with bob when it was prob apparent he should have left not to long ago...thinking bob will get him the pac fight which will be large for bud....bob gives a list of excuses but the reality is he didnt wanna pay for the fight and thought hed lose money...and bob hates losing money now even if it means theres a chance he makes more later....

it was the same with floyd at top rank.....floyd basically left over like a total of 4-6 mil( i think it was) in future guarantees for hatton and cotto fights.....bob wouldnt guarantee him what he wanted and lost floyd over a relatively small amount of money compared to what floyd went on to earn....he even told floyd straight up "i dont wanna get you the oscar fight cause ill lose money on it".......now in no way am i comparing floyd to bud....bud doesnt have that kind of presence....he couldnt pull of the floyd character.....but the reality is bob didnt have the foresight to see what floyd could become......bob gave us all this stuff about not wanting pac to get hurt and "caring" about him and all that nonsense......but bob showed his hand....because after thurman was beaten by pac bob was out there calling for pac/bud....he had previously thought pac to be old and washed up/faded star......bob never landed him good fights....

i blame both guys...bob couldnt land him good fights that he wanted when he should have had them....and thats partially because of bobs relationship with other promoters that held WW cards.....and i blame bud for not being able to see that.....but for some reason bob decided he wanted to keep bud on and keep paying him....so good for bud for milking that cow i guess...

bro... Crawford is a PHENOMENAL fighter, and a rare talent... I expected him to go straight to the top of the class with ANY decent promoter

Arum is a total shlthead, and a cancer on this sport... he OBVIOUSLY promised Crawford the Pacquiao fight, but did not deliver

      fair point(s)

Arum obviously promised Crawford the Pacquiao fight, but Crawford must have known that Arum is a snake... everybody else knew

These posts have been very good. I have to admit. Not some of the usual tripe. Knowleable info. I'd just add, what would a Don King do? Good and bad...sure. But when he had fighters with boring personalities, he still ****ed it up. That's not Bob's style though. Especially at 90. It takes chemistry to spark interest. I think boxing needs a shot of that. There's too much protection going on and the fans know it. They just don't want to take risks.

He lost money with Crawford but he had no problem signing him to 2 contacts….that’s what scum bag bob does he uses his fighter s to promote his in-house fights and once that resource dries up they automatically become liabilities…typical scum bag bobism

Arum ripped off Pacquiao for YEARS

that is why he installed Michael Koncz as pac-manager

Manny even tried to sue Arum, with Visionquest... but as soon as Visionquest uncovered fraud, they immediately got pulled off the case

that shlt was all over he news

              also, Arum blew it...

Arum let it slip that he will be writing Pac " a cheque for 25mil on Saturday night "

I jumped on that thread, but it became strangely silent

Mayweather took home a chq for 120mil... Pacquiao took home a chq for 25mil... WTF ?

four things that I will never understand about Manny are.....

              * extending his contract with Top Rank, when he clearly does not require a promoter

              * firing visionquest, after giving them POA... immediately after visionquest reported finding widespread problems with his accounts/contracts

              * retaining Koncz, after visionquest revealed that Koncz had been receiving a monthly wage from Top Rank since becoming his manager

              * being happy with a cheque for 25mil, from a supposed 80mil purse

After PPV, Mayweather likely banked close to 200mil... and Manny likely banked about 40mil, the same amount that he had previously refused

Arum has maintained this even when Crawford still had a couple years left. He has consistently said he loses money on Crawford.

Crawford is not a draw. He’s had a couple of chances to show it. His PPV’s should be around 350k with him as the A-side for him to be considered a decent draw.

That was where Mayweather and Pacquiao were before they got their big breaks. That is also where Spence averages in his fights. 350k is where you want to start. Canelo did 300-350k with him as the A-side vs Lara and Angulo. This showed he would make a good dance partner for another good draw.

I think ultimately, you want to have confidence in a fighter being able to sell 500-600k+ vs another good draw.

PBC never releases the numbers which means that their ppv numbers are low because I guarantee you if Spence got ppv numbers of 500,000-1,000,000 PBC would be releasing those numbers and bragging about them to the public. The hard truth is there is only one ppv star in boxing and that is Canelo Alvarez.

which makes that 70/30 demand from Spence utterly ridiculous

in the last 10 years, there were only a handful of fighters who were entitled to pull the A-side card

Mayweather, Pacquiao, Canelo, Cotto, Klitschko, just off the top of my head... there may have been a couple more

the way Golovkin ran around killing GOOD fights, with opponents who were MUCH better than the scrubs he selected - was ridiculous

I think this is the least bitter that Arum has ever sounded, regarding this topic. Hopefully, journalists no longer ask him questions that may prompt him to speak of Crawford.
