crawfords fine, he got paid well over the years and a lot of it was easy money, if floyd had kept his mouth shut and didnt promote himself and push like he did, it would have been different for him too, some gameplans work better than others, you know

And as soon as they threw one of their top guys at Bud, we all saw what happened. And that's what PBC fully understood all along-that Bud is too good to give an opportunity to, because he's not their guy, so therefore, he's bad for business. They knew that ever since he kicked Gamboa and Diaz's ass. On Bob Arum's end, he can't really promote Bud either, because all he can feed him are guys no one wants to pay to see. So it's not Bud's fault at all. He always beats the guy across the ring from him. That's all he can do, besides crash a press conference and slap the **** out of someone who's ducking him, to try and publicly humiliate them into fighting him. But if he did that, all half of these dudes would do is sue him and try to get some money of him. Aaron Pryor should have slapped the **** out of Ray Leonard at that press conference he crashed. I'm still pissed about the fact that he didn't. If he did, Ray would have had to fight him
I get your point, that a lot of promoters steer their guys away from Crawford... but that reflects on the fighter in my book
nobody steered Shawn Porter away from Crawford... and Crawford just left Arum for not securing the fights he wanted
I got no problem with guys who are still developing and working their way up, but a lot of established fighters behave like bltches
if RJJ heard someone say that a fighter could beat him.. be that media, fans, whoever... Roy demanded that fight, he wanted blood
I blame Arum for not landing the Spence fight... but Spence is not without blame, he showed no real interest in that fight
demanding 70% is ridiculous, that was NEVER going to happen and HE KNEW IT
Spence demanding 70% for Crawford, is like Golovkin demanding 164 for Ward... THEY 100% KNEW that was a show-stopper
Porter is a dog, and a total class act... I miss him already

The hard truth is that neither Crawford or Spence are ppv stars. Neither are the A side because neither can produce ppv average numbers of more than a few hundred thousand buys. PBC never releases the numbers which means that their ppv numbers are low because I guarantee you if Spence got ppv numbers of 500,000-1,000,000 PBC would be releasing those numbers and bragging about them to the public. The hard truth is there is only one ppv star in boxing and that is Canelo Alvarez.Last edited by jdp28tx; 12-09-2021, 11:51 AM.Mexican_Puppet

unfortunately "talent" and "drawing power" have nothing to do with each other outside the hardcore fan demographic. Does it make sense that Jake Paul can out-draw 99% of all active fighters today? No it does not, but unfortunately that's the world we live in.
It's easy to blast Bob, but a promoter cannot "make" someone into a draw. All he can do is expose that fighter to the public, and hope that some kind of connection takes place. Personally I have never been able to conclusively say why Bud hasnt developed into a better draw. The quiet demeanor doesn't help, but he is a killer in the ring. He SHOULD be a much better draw than he is. Unfortunately PBC doesnt release PPV numbers, so we cant really compare how poorly he compares to Spence, Thurman, etc. For whatever reason, Bud just never really connected with the casuals, which is whats necessary in order to become a "draw".

He's a legit killer. He has to contain that.
He nearly fought Benavidez twice before their fight.
Arum did bad business. He overpaid to secure one of the top guys. And then he wants Crawford to act like a Jake Paul to get attention.
Speaking of which, Jake Paul without any talent is showing how fighters can make ten times more money if they up their game in the promotion.
But I still don't think Crawford needs to. Spence doesn't. Porter doesn't. Canelo doesn't do anything more than Crawford in promotion.
but Jake Paul is a total ass-clown
most boxing insiders, and most hardcore fans... think he is just a shlthead
I get the feeling that most casual fans don't seem to like him either, Paul bought most of his fans with him from youtube/twitter/etc
the dude comes across like a spoiled kid... he is a childish smart-ass, with no class whatsoever
the only good thing I can say about him is he seems to behave like a professional in camp/training, and he seems to be stepping up his competition
NONE of the top PPV fighters in the last 20 years behaved like Jake Paul... Pacquiao, Canelo, Cotto... even Mayweather
I loved your first line bro, that was gold... " I think Crawford is too good to need to have to do anything outside the ring "
he really needed those breakout fights with Pacquiao/Spence... but I still can't understand why he is not a bigger draw just based on ability
