I'd imagine that a promoters job is to promote. Crawford's got the skills and talent , if he wants to run his mouth off or act some type of way for attention that's all on him . I don't see anything wrong with what he's doing , he's a fighter not a entertainer.

Arum failed him as a promotor. Crawford did his job which was to win and do so impressively. It’s bobs fault he couldn’t land him any of the meaningful fights he needed at 147.

doubt that Crawford's financial demands prevented Pacquiao/Spence... I am sure that we would have heard something if bud had priced himself out with Pacquiao... and Arum admitted that he did not even attempt to make that fight, citing concern for Pacquiao's well-being... but fair point about the network, no idea... and nope, never heard any offers from PBC, not one

I suppose I mainly blame Arum because...

1) both of those fights really should have happened, they are no-brainers

2) Arum admitted that he did not attempt to make Pacquiao/Crawford... despite that fight being mentioned in the media on multiple occasions, and despite Pacquiao publicly showing interest in Crawford's welterweight rival Spence

3) Crawford / Spence is one of the biggest - if not the biggest - fight in boxing... but you made some great points, and we do not know the full story

4) we just watched the same thing happen to Tim Bradley

Boxing promoters don't lose money because of their fighters. They lose money because they can't promote. Bob is somebody else's puppet. That somebody else wants Terence Crawford to be his puppet too. Crawford is the best pound for pound fighter in Boxing today.

The PPV price included an obligation to subscribe to ESPN. Otherwise, I would have bought the fight. ESPN has devolved into being too political. ESPN sucks. Too bad they had to push a subscription to ESPN in order to get the fight. Crawford should hook up with Showtime.

How would Arum have ever made Mayweather-Bradley? Top Rank didnt even sign Bradley until the Casamayor fight. Before that Bradley was with Gary Shaw. And by the time Bradley was with Top Rank, Floyd had been gone from TR for over 6 years, and was already into his Showtime contract.

No way Bob could have made that fight......

it is absurd to think that a fight between the two highest ranked welterweights is... inconceivable... WTF?

FACT: Mayweather does whatever he wants, period... if he wants something to happen, then it will happen... that fight would happen in a goat shed in Upper Mongolia if Mayweather decided to make it happen... that is a fact... Bradley was ranked #1 by The Ring, and Mayweather would view him as a highly beatable opponent... I am sure that Mayweather would prefer Bradley over Guerrero, which happened in May 2013

" due to boxing politics, I may not fight the best "... so... he KNOWINGLY sold his legacy, for a Pacquiao payday... and as we can see now, with the benefit of hindsight... Bradley never fought ANY of the top welters except Pacquiao, not one

that really plssed me off... because like I said earlier, I was a big Bradley fan... I liked his attitude, and I liked how he always found a way to win... fights with Thurman, Porter, Broner, Spence, Danny Garcia, Khan, Brook, Guerrero, Malignaggi, Maidana... would have been GREAT

Just to clarify, I was explaining why Kambosos has been able to connect so quickly: because his first impression for most fans was as a wide underdog for the (almost) undisputed championship against someone who had just beaten a consensus P4P boxer (Loma). Also, Teofimo was in his hometown. Terrence's first impression for many was probably against Breidis Prescott. The scenarios couldn't be any farther from each other, in terms of scale and significance. It's not Crawford's fault, just the way things played out.

As for Crawford being an underdog....I think almost everything at 147-154 is 50/50 at worst for Crawford. MW is when I think he'd start becoming the clear underdog. If Castano can have success at 154, I think Crawford could too.

I guarantee that Crawford would be a red hot favorite over EVERY welter, including Spence

bookies are smart, and that style matchup would not favor Spence

not sure about the top JMW's, I would need to see how Crawford settled in at 154... I suspect that you are probably correct, and he certainly has the skills/style to punch above his weight... like Mayweather did at 154

Crawford is super-elite... he has great ringIQ, and his switch-hitting is exceptional... one of the best I have ever seen... but he is not as defensively sound as Mayweather... Floyd is slightly sharper, has a slightly tighter game, and is more technically-correct in most departments... Mayweather really was a textbook fighter... so I would like to see how Crawford adapted to 154, before making any calls regarding the top guys... but I suspect that you are right... if he settled in at 154 as comfortably as he did at welter and had no problems adapting to the weight... then only a small handful at the very top would be even money, at best... there are only two that I can think of, Crawford would likely be favored over everyone else

I agree with those saying that Bob Arum should have made Pacquiao vs Crawford when both were with Top Rank.

That was the passing of the torch fight that Bud needed. It would have given him the rub and name recognition necessary to go to the next level.

To become a PPV star you have to beat a PPV star (Floyd vs Oscar) or at least fight a PPV star (Canelo vs Floyd.)

Arum dropped the ball and screwed Crawford over on that one.

I have never paid and will never pay for a Bumford fight.. Arum is right Bumford can’t sell a family dinner in his hometown. He’s Boring and has no charisma lol
