Floyd’s physical prime ended around 2009. After around the JMM fight, his legs were never quite the same. He was still excellent but he definitely slowed down around 2010 onwards

So it kind of evens itself out.

As for the weight, Canelo’s team were actually the ones that suggested 152 at first, go and look it up if you can.
    Many can shoulder roll

few can easily counter off it like Floyd & Jamez

Floyd could counter off it, Plant used it to survive not to counter, Caleb turned it more side on which avoided Canelos over hand right to the head, but then opened up his body in the process, Floyd wouldn't have had as much angle on it and would have countered accurate shots in-between Canelos trying to tag him. Floyd is always trying to win there is offense inside his defense, Plant didn't have the offensive component that Floyd brings, Plant was a deer in the headlights.

Canelo is better than floyd and mike tyson

That was very interesting to witness in my opinion.
What came out of Canelo’s mouth was that Plant was difficult to hit.

But any observer would see that it was basically the Canelo Show. Plant avoiding getting, avoiding hitting, and just there to go 12 to say he went 12. That’s all I saw.

You put me, a non pro, no amateur experience, in there with Canelo, I too can run around the ring for a few rounds until Canelo catches me and folds me in half with the first body punch he lands on me. I can then come post on boxingscene and gloat about going a few rounds with Canelo before he caught me. And Canelo, being his humble self, would praise how much I ran.

All these pro boxers get in there with Canelo and try to just go 12 rounds. Then fans want to act like the opponent was so great and so hard to hit. Running around scared as hell, not making him pay, not trying to engage. Idk why that’s praised by some fans. Like just go in there and pretty much get chased and avoid getting hit, throw nothing of substance. Throwing weak jabs. Losing rounds. Some fans praise this style of fighting and want to attach Floyd’s name to their post. This is very far from Mayweather’s style at 147-154. Mayweather did not run around the ring, throwing or landing nothing of substance. Floyd made opponents miss, and he would land everything from weak jabs, strong jabs, and power shots for 12 rounds. He would outland his opponents every single time, nearly almost every round.

Plant got the defense/elusiveness down. But you can’t win a boxing match with just defense. You have to outland your opponent, land better shots, land the harder shots, in more rounds. Catch the judges attention with power shots. Broner tries his hardest to 100% mimic Mayweather, but he also sucks at it. Which is why he wasn’t one bit successful vs Pacquiao, who Floyd beat clearly. Plant, another one trying to mimic Mayweather, and failing miserably at it where Floyd beat Canelo clearly.

Remember when Berto tried it v Guerrero and got dropped twice In the first two rounds then quickly abandoned it Still one of the funniest things I’ve seen in a boxing ring.

That wasn’t because he was drained. That is because no one he’s fought since is as good as Floyd.

As for looking good, yes he’s vastly improved. But I’d argue other than Floyd, his worse performance in the ring was ggg 1 at 160 ( Lara at 155, but that was before Floyd.)

Berto(e) had the cutest shoulder roll I seen with his t-Rex arms and stocky physique lol
