    • The guy who wrote this article needs a lesson on how ranking fighters in boxing works. Let me give him a quick lesson, this was the ranking of the top welterweights in the world prior to Mosley/Margarito;

      1. Margarito
      2. Cotto
      3. Mosley

      now, after Mosley defeated Margarito, this is how they look;

      1. Mosley
      2. Cotto
      3. Margarito

      any questions?

            Anyways, the fight happened almost 2 years ago, things have changed from then to now.

            Not the best article.

                One day, I'm going to have to start a thread of Shane's resume and accomplishments. SM is a very good fighter. But this "1st-ballot HoFer" talk is a bit overblown, imo.

                Shane beat Oscar and Margarito. That's pretty much it for prime guys at the top of their divisions. SM gets a lot (A LOT) of cushion for being "a nice guy".

                This is a boxing opinion.

                  simple. margarito knocked the **** out of cotto, and in turn mosley knocked the **** out of margarito. a win over clottey doesnt mean ****. it aint rocket science.

                  • Shane will at this moment comming of the Margarito win would give a lot of problems with all top WW we have today. The defining moment in the Margo fight was a huge right he hit Margo on the body early in the fight(Margo was bent and his expressionless face expressed how he felt that blow). He took all the fight out of Margo at that point. Shane like any other WW was standing around waiting to make the highest payday instead of fighting. Now he got by passed and he is complaining so much about it. He does deserve a shot at the top money making WW but he has to keep winning to make a strong point and he won't be denied. By winning boxing fans will recognize who is the man to beat, Shane should continue his winning ways and keep on doing them impressively as he been doing as late.

                      Luck can be a one punch knockout... not a 9 round destruction.
