A thought occurs to me. Shane might be making this noise because his wife (former wife) is no longer promoting him. Perhaps he is as much trying to be successful for himself as he is to get revenge upon his wife? I dunno about the particulars of their split but Shane's actions savor of 'one upmanship' to me.

I don't agree at all. The Mosely Cotto fight was very close, in fact both guys landed the same amount of punches. Cotto lost to Margarito then Shane stepped up, took care of business and secured his place as the #1 welter. It's as simple as that. This kind of muddled logic makes me pissed that there are so many sanctioning bodys and belts in boxing, if we just had 1 belt per weight division then people couldn't make nutball arguments like this .

Shane was getting fights. Cotto fought him, Margarito fought him, Collazo fought him, Floyd offered him, Zab was scheduled, Williams called him out, and Clottey is taking him. Where's all the ducking?

Things just didn't go Shane's way. It happens.

say what you want this dude's absolutely right 1.Cotto did beat him andthe man that beat Cotto (Margacheato) was caught cheating which in my eyes negates that. 2.Mayweather did offer him a fight twice and both times he turned him down now all of sudden because he's getting old and his window's closing everyone has to abide by his plans get the **** outta here. He's hanging out too much with B-Hop

Based on Mosley's last performance he absolutely deserves his shot at Cotto,Pacquaio or Mayweather, although these days in boxing sometimes u can look too good for your own good which is what Mosley done. This author needs to stop talking **** and show some respect. Mosley last fight was an absolute throw back & I'm just glad that we still have a fighter like Shane still around. Lyle Fitzsimmons seems to be saying Mosley talks too much ****, LOL if Shane talks too much then what about everyone else in boxing including Mayweather. I understand shane's frustrations, when Mayweather was asked why not fight Shane Mosley he replied
"who, Shane Mosley who got 5 losses on his record". That's priceless when he's fighting a lightweight with 4 losses and he didn't seem to mind fighting Baldomir with like 10 losses. To disagree with this writer i do think Shane looks reinvented now that he's working with ****m Richardson and I just hope someone steps up, if Pacman,Cotto, or Mayweather don't want to then hopfully Clottey or Berto will.

I dont really like Shane but he did beat Margo and had a close fight with Cotto so he is still one of the top guys. I think his problem is more of a problem with all of boxing..which is every fight has to be some sort of superfight thats the mentality, he needs to worry about Clottey and Margo should get a rematch with him.

This is a lot of hating. Cotto vs Mosley was very close and most had t 115-113 for Cotto, which means he won by a single round. Since then Mosley has rebouded big time, and has looked great, and Cotto has never looked as good as when he fought Mosley. Forget what anybody says, Margarito beat Cotto fair and square, took the number one spot, and then god DESTROYED by Shane which gives him the spot. I'll take a razor thin loss, and then a domanant ruthless KO win over the number one guy over a razor thin win and a career ending ass kicking loss any day.

And the point is that everybody is telling Shane that he can have that number 1 spot. That and a token will get him on the subway.

While Shane sits on that spot, the other guys are making big money superfights around him.

I'm just glad he quit calling out Pac. Him and Clottey should be a good fight.
