    Based on footage

this Greb was a force of nature who beat guys through will more so than skill

he would break them down with body shots and mauling

Greb footage is as disappointing as the clip of Bruce lee hitting the heavy bag

      Neither look good

I find it difficult to rank Greb, Langford, Gans, Fitzsimmons etc because there’s such limited footage.
No footage, did they even exist?

Why are you going to actually post some input on the subject if I do?

there was no p4p list then so how could he have been p4p for 9 years?

I don’t imagine Henry Armstrong looking very sexy while shadow boxing either

                  these inside swarming styles

I don't think the footage does him justice because reports suggest he wasn't much of an outfighter. He'd usually work on the inside, especially after losing the sight in one eye. Even though fighters now are more technical, it'd be interesting to see just how he fought, if he used similar tactics to control opponents to Jack Johnson or a completely different style. I'd also like to see how he slipped punches against bigger guys or if he just did that Ricky Hatton thing of being willing to rush face first into your opponent's best shot as long as you can fall into a clinch afterwards.

He was a great fighter in his era, but facing 60 top p4p fighters? Boxrec says that Greb was 9-5-1 (0 KOs) against former, current, and future world champions which sounds more realistic. Not an expert on him though

He fought a staggering 28 top 3 P4P fighters going 4-1 vs the #1 P4P fighters in a short period of time.

Imagine how much better his record would be when you realise most of those losses came at the hands of the much, much bigger Gene Tunney. Greb walked around at a shade over 160lbs he'd be nothing but a good size WW today. Do you know how insane that is? We have excuses today this guy weighed 3lbs more, this fighter weight drained the other by 2lbs. This guy was 160lbs soaking wet and hospitalising some of the finest fighters to ever live that were twice his size.

This man is the #goat, not Sugar Ray Robinson.

Men lie, women lie, numbers don't.
I rate both Langford and Green ahead of SRR. Langford gets the nod from me for beating the very best fighters from lightweight to heavyweight. I wouldn't argue against Greb being in the top spot though as he is certainly a favorite of mine and you make a compelling argument.
