Disagree here. She was folded up on the floor about ten minutes later and seemed to have no complaints. She was getting ****ed up.

Bellator still allows fighters to wear their own trunks, but UFC signed a Reebok deal years ago and fighters must wear Reebok trunks and tops for a fight. it's mandatory. So Dana White stopped that extra income from his fighters. Someone gave Shields some bad information.
This is wrong. It's $100k base pay plus profits from PPV. It's never reported how much that is exactly but Rousey sold almost a million PPV every fight. She was making millions.

Shields will never be that kind of star but if she can become a top UFC fighter she can do well. Just need to get on a McGregor card and reap the PPV benefits if he's still around by then.

In womens boxing all the strength in depth is at the lower weights just look at the number of registered boxers, Shields picked up a lot of those belts vacant.

Anyway not hating could look to her hope she gets her money but at the end of the day its viewers that matter .. maybe MMA gives her that.

On the other hand women in MMA can make 7 digits headlining a PPV. Not 8 PPV's in a year. 1 PPV.

There is just more money on the women's side in MMA than in boxing. It is what it is. I honestly wasn't thinking there was as much opportunity in MMA til I heard more high level women boxers who crossed over to MMA talk about it. They got first hand knowledge. Most folks on this forum are only speculating. And again realize Heather Hardy made more money in MMA in 4 fights than she made in boxing in 20+ fights. That should say everything about Shields potential upside in MMA.

Not a single Woman in MMA has EVER made 7 figures. The #1 paid fighter has only made 450k. Women will get paid better when they bring in the views. Simple as that.

I always feel like for a boxer to be at least semi competitive in MMA you need to be able to **** and young enough to learn take down offence and some BJJ sprawls and escapes.

              shields is neither

cmon man, now you know anyone can win a belt today. Some people are fighting for belts in their 4th or 5th fight with the WBO becoming a major title and the 3 or 4 titles the WBA has. I'm a fan and have been since her first gold medal, but as I said last week, these fighters today complaining about exposure and being a star, fighting twice a year won't do early in your career. I hope she's successful at what she does, but I dont like the current boxing model of 2 or 3 fights a year for 20 year olds. and then complaining about not being a star when they have never fought on free tv

Pretty much this ^^^. Not sure where he got his figures from but that is pure lies. Women in MMA have better views than women in boxing, Shield might be a 3 weight champion but most of that is in vacant titles. And she just doesn't have the following needed to get the paydays that she or this poster was talking about. Katie Taylor has a following in female boxing and make more money than Shield. So like you pointed out more views = more money. Shield just doesn't have that views..

I feel like some people don't actually look at the facts, they just follow whatever the boxers say and then attach their emotions to it. Shield currently isn't a big name in female boxing, hence why networks like showtime are not that willing to invest in her. And yes her 3 division thing isn't anything to write home about when we actually look at how and who she won those titles against.

Wait people are actually praising her lmfao?

Guessing no one actually watched or looked at her opponent..

She's 3-7 and like 0-4 in her last 4 ffs.. and she clearly won the first two rounds vs Shields

WMMA just like womens boxing is trash

Shields struggled to beat a soccer mom and you guys are saying **** like "you go girl/great job"
