There is absolutely nothing special about Devin Haney.

You definitely can. The sport is littered with examples. You’re telling me you couldn’t tell Mike Tyson was special by 22? There’s literally hundreds of examples you could use.
First of all there are not many fighters who are professionals at that age. Second of all, there are so many obstacles to becoming great, so much development takes place, many flaws come out... So no... there are not hundreds of examples! When I was fighting (Martial Arts) at 22 I was 180 pounds, skinny, fast feet... By the time I was 30 I was 220ish, about twice as physically strong... Which affected my power tremendously...

Great fighters are like Navy Seals... In every town there are bad a s s es... Cowboys who are Rodeo crazy, tough guys, etc... They all are tough, but like 20% of them make the cut... Talent at a very young age, power at a young age, poise at a young age, are advantages. To cross that finish line, a whole bunch of things have to line up.

You say there are many examples... show me where there are more than 10 guys who have come as far as Tank, Hany, Ryan and Lopez did at such a young age, because Haney is by far the youngest. And show me where any guy is so above the rest that we are looking at another Tyson. Tyson who studied fighters like Dempsey in the past, did not have to worryabout fighting out of his weight division...

Since when? Most of these guys will have to move up in weight class... Your thinking heavy weights, or even middleweights... Juan Ma had lots of power... broner had power... and where did it get them? And I call BS because you, and nobody else can predict where haney, garcia, tank or lopez will be in 5 years. In jail? with power that carries up? bigger and stronger? Just bigger?

Talent is subjective... haney has talent and throws a great jab... But people think he has no special talent because he cannot Ko a veteran fighter... So that means he is going to get Koed lol. Really? Heres a quick quiz... who was greater Bach or Mozart? Bach could play the piano as a virtuosa at like 10 years old... Mozart was not "talented" at that age, not a childhood virtousa and became great later... Recognizing talent is not as simple as finding a guy who looks a million at 20. Some guys have it and you can see it is developing. Tyson could not do half of what Haney could do at 22...but he could fight as a heavy weight and develop his punch knowing it would not be lost transitioning to a weight class later.

There’s no way he’s a better pure boxer than Teofimo IMO. The way Teofimo outboxed Loma was so impressive, especially when you consider how technically skilled Loma is.

I’ll agree to disagree with you on his ability but I genuinely just don’t see anything special in Haney and that’s irrespective of whether I like him or not. There’s loads of fighters I dislike but I’ll always give props when due.
I never said he was a better boxer than Teo.

I ain't even seen the kid fight yet. At them smaller weights I just don't give enough ****s. Teo or Loma I'll watch, Haney needs to do something first, otherwise, tbh, reather watch some mid card MW-HW.

For real, how old were you all when you were 135? like 12 or some ****?

Can you only start a thread here if you got extreme opinions? Devin clearly gots some skills & this W over Linares kills anyone suggesting he's not a top ten world class guy. Can he beat this guy or that guy....who fooking knows man...I just know they aren't likely to fight next anyway so its highly speculative to suggest who can beat who when we probably ain't seeing that fight for a year or two anyway.

                Even Broner.

There are f***ing loads who by 22 we knew had special talent.

You say “come as far as Haney has”, who’s he beat? His only respectable win is a past prime Linares.

Yeah he’s young and he potentially could get better but based on what we’ve seen so far there is nothing special about him and that’s the point I’m trying to make in this thread.

Which is exactly why we can't say how great a fighter will be at 22. Some will improve a lot, some won't.

Haney is a very skilled young fighter. That is what I'll give him.. he has flaws though. But at 22 years, he's still growing. Let's see. Like I said before all of those young guys have glaring holes in their game. Teo included. I just want to see them all in the ring with each other. IDC who anyone thinks is the best. It's a good crop. Let their in ring performances decide.

Lol it’s boxing bro they’re cutting weight you know that right?

yea for me around 12-14 I was around that weight but what’s the point? These lower weight guys are 100 times for skill than the hw fat ****s we have today.

you sound like some fat ass overweight slob. And funny thing is HW have suck ass for over two decades now lol that’s a fact the last time a Hw was the main star of the sport was ****in 30 yrs ago lol
