That's what I don't get. We've seen a lot of guys get elevated before so this is nothing new. The response here is crazy.. Anyway, Haney can really box beautifully at times. I don't really care who people like more between the lightweights but that's really where the majority of the backlash comes from. It's just emotional involvement.

That's exactly what it is. Ryan Garcia avoids his own mandatory shot at Haney's belt and you don't hear a peep from those same people about that.

I was rooting for Linares but Jesus Christ guys. If Haney had gone out there and fought like Demetrius Andrade you guys would have been busting his balls about how unwatchable he is (and would be right to do so). Instead he going out there with bad intentions, tried to get the stoppage and gave the fans a show. Linares came in the shape of his life and was able to weather the storm.... Haney got rocked going for the KO but so what? Would you have rather he spent the whole fight jabbing or in a wide stance fighting a negative-ass, unwatchable 12 rounds? GTFO. Linares caught him with a good one but overall Haney beat the dog **** out of Linares and showed a lot of skill.

Linares is a huge puncher for the weight and clipped Lomachenko as well. Is Loma a fraud? Come on.

All these threads and I'm not seeing one post about the fact that it was a damned good fight. You guys are just out here praying Haney fails.

he beat 2 of the top 3 guys in the division(he was the other guy in the top 3) and he just said he would fight haney next. talk is cheap of course but has haney made any offers to lopez...nope! dazn ran out of money or what? they are throwing offers left and right at people when they want fights...yet nothing for haney.and tank davis come on man. hes basically in a different sport. hes not doing anything.

He also claims Lopez has one relevant win like a casual fan.

Lopez has more than one relevant win to anyone who isn't some casual, highlight-watching fan. Nakatani, Commey and Lomachenko. They're all top 10. Next guy, Kambosos, one of the lower tier LW's but still top 10. That's going to be 4 fights vs top 10 Lightweights. But in the eyes of that casual fan he only has one relevant win. You know because top wins don't count unless the fighter is HOF bound like Lomachenko. So I guess pro fighters should only fight 4-5 times in their career and make sure they're 4-5 HOF'ers or else the wins aren't relevant to these casuals.

They are also around the same age, Haney has 10 more pro fights, they have similar amateur backgrounds. Lopez has decided to start fighting quality opponents with like 12-13 fights into his pro career. Skipped the highlight reel type fights and went straight for the top 3 guys (Lomachenko, Commey).
