Fury won't sign site fee deal until money is guaranteed. Looking to fight someone else in July

It’s not about being handed over
it’s about securing money in escrow, so all sides are protected. That’s what means.
ask Amir Khan about how he didn’t get the money he was promised for his fight in Saudi, despite having a contract.
Signing a contract in the Middle East means nothing, they can shaft you afterwards and what you gonna do? Take them to court in the Middle East?they run the place.
At least if the money is secured in an escrow account, You know the correct amount will be released to you. Fury is right.
These idiots have no idea how business works, probably why most AJ fans are still in school.Comment

Well said! That's the real reason why the fight is being held up and why he can't sign the contract but no one wants to admit it; Not even his promoters Frank Warren, Bob Arum or even boxing fans. Any way one look it Deontay Wilder has a case. He was promised a trilogy bout with Fury but Tyson Fury breached the contract. Thus for the reason for the delayed Joshua/Fury contract signings.Comment

Eddie Hearn was negotiating in the media, trying to shoehorn Bob Arum and Tyson Fury into deals before they had gotten to the small print. Hearn declared things signed and sealed when they were not. It is an approach that suits Hearn and Anthony Joshua. The thing Eddie doesn't seem to realize though, Bob Arum has been promoting World title fights since before Hearn was born, and Fury is the #1 Heavyweight on the planet. These types of people don't dance to the Matchroom casuals tune. There are due processes to follow, this is not a "deal is signed when it suits AJ and Hearn" type of event. There is no A-Side here.Comment

Turn it around and imagine it’s AJ refusing to sign and making all these negative comments. What would you be saying? That he’s ducking/scared/won’t fight a top 2 opponent etc etc etc.Last edited by NorvernRob; 05-11-2021, 04:32 AM.Comment

Are you guys conveniently forgetting the fact that Hearn has already done a fight in the Middle East and I didn’t hear Ruiz or AJ complaining about not getting their money. Did you?

Hearn said himself it’s been difficult to get real official offers because of covid restrictions and economy. Hearn said there was 5 or 6 offers, two days later AJ said there’s only been 1 real offer. That’s a big difference. That’s probably because many places won’t pay that amount under the current climate.
so on the back of that, it’s only right to make sure the money is guaranteed. It should be no problem. If they’re willing to host the fight, then they should have a guarantee in place, it’s only right.Comment

when Fury was asked about it by YouTube boxing channels reporters before the BJS, he said he won’t talk about it on camera as it can be legally used against you.
so it seems they are still trying to work it out.
Also they had a hearing last week which was supposedly more like a “negotiation” - so maybe they’re negotiating a step aside fee, which may also tie in to why Fury wants to make sure the site fee money is guaranteed?Comment

Securing funds is common. But signing contracts after the money is moved is less so.
All the contract has to say is that the funds will be there by a certain date. If they're not, then they're in breach of contract.
When you signed your mortgage agreement, was that before or after the funds moved?Comment

Not handing money over to Fury, but still handing over money.

none of us know
but the reality is that there should be some guarantee that the money is there, whether it’s by a certain date or some other way.
We’re not talking about a mortgage in England, we’re talking about making deals in the Saudi Arabia, a place with some of the worst human rights in the world , a place renowned for screwing people over with contracts knowing there’s very little you can do about it. Ask Khan.
let’s be realistic, it’s unlikely Fury is sat combing through the contract. The concern would be coming from his lawyer.Comment

Well they should be having some guaranteed amount from the site fee before signing? Hearn has been saying he’s securing site fees, so surely there’s a guaranteed amount?
why would anyone sign without one?
biggest fight in the world should have a guarantee in a contract. You think Floyd, Canelo etc. Would be signing contracts without the money guaranteed by a bank or whatever?
