It seems like a lot of British fighters are really skilled at getting their faces broken. Is it because their bones are 30% softer because they lack minerals in their drinking water? After all, Brits are known to have horrible teeth, so I wonder if there's a connection

Agree, think Saunders takes the money and rides off to the caravan

His corner pulled him out. Definitely the right thing to do.

Dubois' corner didn't. They put a young man into a position where he had to take a knee and quit.

I hope Dubois' watched that and thought about his corner, rather than the comments by Billy Joe.

I'd like to see a scan. Just like Eddie said he didn't see a scan when it happened to Dubois and downplayed his injuries.

Shout out to all the trolls who said Canelo wasn’t a devastating puncher. Wishing Saunders a full recovery, credit to him, it was absolutely the right call not to continue

Exactly! People can say what they want, but Billy had no room for error against Canelo, much less a broken orbital bone and would have taken a massive beating en route to inevitable defeat.

              What's the point?

Mark Tibbs made the right decision, obviously, as that's a nasty injury. He'll be out of action a long time you'd imagine.

Folks really are trying to paint the picture that this fight was closer than it was. While the fight was competitive, I saw it the way the judges did. Canelo was up 6 rounds to 2 (or 5 rounds to 3 at best). Saunders was no match for Canelo. He doesn't have power and he isn't as sharp of a puncher as Canelo. Once he felt Canelo's power after Canelo stepped up the pressure, his heart left the fight. I knew he wasn't going to come out for the 9th round. There was a point where the cut man used the ins-swell to reopen Saunders eye. He still was looking for his corner to stop the fight, which they did. They say he suffered multiple fractures, and he most likely did, but Canelo took his will to continue the fight. Saunders proved to be a contender, but not a world class champion. His career at the top will tumble....as he continues to fight other world class fighters with power.

For those of you & to any boxer who calls a guy a quitter or a coward for pulling out after an eye injury should really think about what they are saying. You only have 2 eyes. All you have to do is look at Calvin Brock. He got a detached retina I think in the Povetkin fight. They botched the surgery trying to repair the damage & he is permanently blind in that eye. When it comes to your eyes nothing is worth losing your eye site. The boxing fans are not the ones who have to live with the damage.

If you check my inside look at the judges thread I called Deluca and Feldman would have high scores for Canelo and Cheatham was the best of the three.

My card was almost the same as Cheatham. I had it Canelo (4), BJS (3), and 1 round even. That is a close fight. Cheatham had it a 2 round up for Canelo, I had it a 1 round up and my even round leaned towards Canelo so practically same score. Saunders was in the fight, Canelo landed a great shot that's the facts.
