He's fighting a guy who's ranked number 8 while he has been number one for a long time.
Cotto really got beat by Clottey
He fought a bum before that
Was knocked out by a guy who was not even ranked in the top 10 in his previous fight.
So really if Manny loses it's an upset but we dont expect him to lose.

yea the same way according to people here Cotto wont be #1 by beating Pacquiao which he is #1, and Cotto is ranked in the p4p list. But they will put Mayweather #1 by beating #2 and not being ranked anywhere in the p4p ranks

win or lose against pac, cotto deserves a better place in the p4p list compared to floyd. i just dont think he will be #1 right away if he beats manny but cotto just won against clottey, a legit welter. if floyd starts winning against the top guys at welter then he can be the p4p king again. but after beating a lightweight who moved up to welterweight looking fat?? hell no

When last did Cotto have a convincing win (apart from Jennings)?
Check that whole pound for pound list,those boxers dominate their opponents mostly,they win a lot more rounds than they lose.As for Cotto for a quite a long time now,even himself he wasnt sure he would see his hand being raised and that's what you call pound for pound material.No one can dispute Manny's ability except when it relates to Marquez
