Ok so according to your logic then Pacquiao already holds the record for having the most divisional championships since he is 4 for 4. More than anyone else in the history of the sport.

im not even caring that ibo is a b/s organization to the extent ndou is the welterweight champ yet he barely cracks top twenty...... im just saying fghts for ring magazine championships are not title fights for title's from sanctioning bodies.

to answer you loui, no a world title is a paper belt sanctioned by organizations such as the wbc, wba, ibf, or wbo. now that pacquiao won the ibo belt at 140 i guess a ton of people want to consider that legitimate too, but if you asked any nonpacquiao fan they would tell you it isnt a real world championship title.
lineal titles are more so for bragging rights, to trace lineage back to great champs so the current lineal champ can say i beat the man, who beat the man, who beat the man, who beat the man, who beat the man who was the great (insert great champs name here).
zsolt erdie beat gonzales, who beat michaelczewski, who beat virgil hill who beat henry maske, etc. at light heavyweight. roy although he has all the belts and was the best and even beat three of the fights named there was never the lineal champ at that weight.

so thats 4 major titles(wbc, wbo, wba, ibf) and 2 minor titles(ring, ibo)

4 major titles + 2 minor titles = 6 titles

in how many divisions? 6
