So if Floyd retires in 2 fights without losing at ww then comes back 10 years later he is still lineal champ at 147 by your logic?

The Ring champion is said to be the lineal champion. Marquez is the Ring champion because he beat Casamayor, this is where he got his lineage. Pac beats Hatton and becomes the Ring champ, this is where he gets his lineage.
The Ring champion is usually the lineal champ, unless a new lineage is set.Comment

???????????????So although he retired, because he retired undefeated at the weight he still held the lineal crown. After Baldo, he didnt lose the title.
So now he's back again, he still is the official lineal champ at the weight even though he has'nt fought for almost 18 months or so.
Just thought i'd clarify this up. So although Mosley is the no1 at 147 at the moment, he'd have to beat Floyd to get the lineal crown.Comment

The Ring Champion is NOT the lineal champ and even if it "usually" is (what a crock of bull**** - just give up!) it still isn't the standard we go by.The Ring champion is said to be the lineal champion. Marquez is the Ring champion because he beat Casamayor, this is where he got his lineage. Pac beats Hatton and becomes the Ring champ, this is where he gets his lineage.
The Ring champion is usually the lineal champ, unless a new lineage is set.
