Just to clarify things up..... Floyd still holds the lineal title at 147.

I bet Floyd coudln't believe his luck - top featherweights moving up in weight who are regarded as the P4P 1 and 2.

    LET THE CHERRY PICKING BEGIN!
Floyd is a fake Lineal champ. Margarito at that time was more of a threat than Baldomir. Floyd is fake at 147 and cherry pick all his opponents.

lol yeah he does cherry pick his fights but so do alot of fighters these days. bernard hopkins seems interested in fighters like froch, pavlik and adamek but clearly ducked dawson and wants no part of kessler.

sa for manny and loyd they are more alike than it seems, both forged out their ATG status over HOF comp. lower down the weight classes. now both cherry pick their fights but floyd picks fighters based on their style e.g. hatton and baldomir.

manny prefers to do the cherry picking by turning their size against bigger fighters and lets them drain themselves out before fighting them e.g. DLH, cotto mosley neogotiations.

also as a sidenote terms like lineal champ and universally recognised champ were coined to avoid the drama that comes with the ABC titles and bring some common sense to boxing. isn't it annoying when they become caught up in the politics of the sport?

He still holds the lineage regardless of whether he retired. This is the rules hense, Mosley or Cotto would have to beat him to claim the lineal crown.

Its like had Lewis come back from retirement, he would still be recognised as the lineal heavyweight champ. Because he never lost it whilst fighting.

        These are the rules.

Are you serious? No...are you serious?

These arethe rules? Tell me where you found this rulebook. Go on, tell everyone.

See my other thread. I agree Hopkins is a cherry picker - perhaps even a bigger one than Floyd.

The lineal champion is described as "the man who beat the man".
Margarito was the #1 welterweight by ring magazine.
Mosley beats Margarito just because Margarito did not hold the Ring belt doesn't mean he was not the best at that time.
Wouldn't Mosley be the lineal champion?

                  lol, I am serious.

Look these are the rules. Why do you think Floyd and Brian Kenny were talking about him being the lineal champ because he beat Baldo during wednesdays espn interview.

So now if Mosley beat Floyd the lineal title would pass on to him. This is what im saying.

I dont know whats so hard to understand.

Where did you find this rule? i mean, it's a boxing rule, right? Shouldn't be that hard to find proof. So go find it.

No because Floyd was the lineal champ. Mosley would have to beat Floyd to become the lineal champ.
