Just to clarify things up..... Floyd still holds the lineal title at 147.

So although he retired, because he retired undefeated at the weight he still held the lineal crown. After Baldo, he didnt lose the title.

So now he's back again, he still is the official lineal champ at the weight even though he has'nt fought for almost 18 months or so.

Just thought i'd clarify this up. So although Mosley is the no1 at 147 at the moment, he'd have to beat Floyd to get the lineal crown.

He's been retired for two years. To me it doesn't matter what he's done, he's forfeit his claim to the title.

You cant forfeit the claim. The lineal title stays with you untill you lose. Its not something we've made up, its happened for years and its happened to previous fighters as well.

He is still the lineal champ at 147.

He never lost it in the ring, he lost it when he retired. He's only claim is to get on line to fight the top guys and earn it.

So then in that case if I quit my job tomorrow, and somebody else comes along and takes it in the meanwhile, you're saying I can come back two years later and get my old job back and all the priviliges it entails.

I feel if you retire from something, you have to work your way back up if you choose to return. You're not entitled to anything.

People may use the example of Ali, and the public still recognising him as champ 3 years later...but Ali was FORCED to retire really.

Erm, this is boxing. Different jobs have different rules. WTF u talking about?

Rules state that if a LINEAL titlelist comes back having left the weight catorgory as the Lineal champ, he still is the lineal champ.

Do you understand what a lineal champ is?

Thats bull****. My point is if you QUIT something and someone elses takes your place, you can't come along 2 years later and take that new guy's place.

I understand perfectly what a lineal champ is and guess what....Floyd quit the sport. He's entitled to **** right now.

What ive just said. If a fighter retires as the lineal champ and comes back from retirement; he is still recognised as the lineal champ.

He still holds the lineage regardless of whether he retired. This is the rules hense, Mosley or Cotto would have to beat him to claim the lineal crown.

Its like had Lewis come back from retirement, he would still be recognised as the lineal heavyweight champ. Because he never lost it whilst fighting.

                    These are the rules.
