Just thought i'd clarify this up. So although Mosley is the no1 at 147 at the moment, he'd have to beat Floyd to get the lineal crown.

I understand perfectly what a lineal champ is and guess what....Floyd quit the sport. He's entitled to **** right now.

Your a joke, you obviously dont know what a lineal champ is as you fail to understand what the rules are regarding it.

He still is the lineal champ. Whats so hard to believe? He still holds the lineage. Im not calling him the best welter out there, but he still holds the lineal crown.

I feel if you retire from something, you have to work your way back up if you choose to return. You're not entitled to anything.

People may use the example of Ali, and the public still recognising him as champ 3 years later...but Ali was FORCED to retire really.

Rules state that if a LINEAL titlelist comes back having left the weight catorgory as the Lineal champ, he still is the lineal champ.

Do you understand what a lineal champ is?

Completley disagree with you. Lets say if Calzaghe comes back at LHW in two years and people are claiming him to be the lineal champ when Dawson and Cloud lets say have cleaned up all the titles...will you disregard all theyve done in his absence and call Calzaghe the lineal champ?

No I don't reckon you would.

Same with Lennox Lewis, why would he be a lineal champ NOW? Wladimir has staked his claim. Vitali has staked a claim for a piece of it.

Lennox wouldn't deserve it. He would have to BEAT the new guys.

So in conclusion, Floyd would have to beat MOSLEY to get that lineal championship....not the other way around as you propose.

We dont have an undisputed champ. Floyd's the lineal champ. His title goes back to the 70's/80's.

For a fighter to lose his lineal crown he must be defeated or must be retired for a numerous number of years.

An undisputed champ is the guy that cleans up his division. Mosley didnt clean up 147, he just beat one of the elite welters.

We do not have an undisputed champ at 147.

Calzaghe never held the Lineal crown at Light Heavy. Dont get confused with being the Lineal champ and being the ring no1 champ. Calzaghe beat the no1 ring Light Heavy in Hopkins, but Bhop wernt the Lineal champ.

If Lewis came back before Wlad's last fight he still would have been recognised as the Lineal champ at the weight.

And why does Floyd have to beat Mosley to be recognised as the lineal champ when Mosley never was a lineal champ at 147? Mosley beat Margarito, and Margarito was not the lineal champ.

I seriously think you do not understand what a Lineal champ is.

Undisputed is what Roy was, he held all the belts. Lineal is usually the guy who unifies, like Floyd who beat Baldi after he beat Zab after he beat Spinks who was the lineal chump. If you retire for other than medical reasons, yes, you lose your claim to be lineal champion, because you chose to retire. You don't think that's the first argument that would've come out Floyd's mouth? stop this bs...
