How were they blown up?

De La Hoya was 154lbs. Their bout was at 156.
Tito was MW Champion expected to KTFO Hopkins.
Winky walks at around 170+ (some even say as far as 190!) so he was hardly blown up dude. More like weight drained at LMW

If he is blown up for racing these, then so his Hagler for facing a "Blown up Hearns, Duran and Leonard" then right?
One one blown up was arguably Pavlik, but even then, walks at around 170+.

Not to me mention Hopkins was ancient when he faced him.

RJ is the only man who truly defeated Bhop. And at that, it wasn't a bad beatin, he wasn't at his peak yet, and it was Roy ****in Jones. Bhop is a legend and his legacy is solid. **** thread.

ffs man it doesn't matter what weight people walk around at bt what weight they fight at once their in fighting condition is more important. ricky walks around at 13st sometimes but that doesn't mean that he can fight at 11st (160) does it?!

i agree with the thread starter that bernard is a HOF fighter but not the ATG that some people make him out to be. imo he caught tarver at a good time as tarver was making plans for tyson and other HW's but i give nard credit for that win. i think his fight with johnson was also a good win.

i'va always said that bernard is an extremely shrewd and sly (in a good way) boxer, he knew pavlik didn't look right at 166 vs JT so called him out to 170 while saying that he has a big frame. pavlik was blown up and clearly had no buisness at that high a weight.

the likes of winky, DLH and tito were also blown up fighters fighting hopkins.

i think bernards losses though count heavily against him, whenever he faced a good fighter in a weight class in which they were both comfortable - he lost.

i think you have to respect his wins over johnson, tarver and his 20 defences but if bernard wants to be seen as an ATG (which he so often makes himself out to be) instead of a HOF then he needs to take on and beat adamek, kessler (or winner of the SMW tourney) or dawson. and by beat i mean beat them - not just spil the fight, head butt, throw the odd counter straight right hand and then cry robbery when the judges decide to give it to the winner.

No reason to question Bernard Hopkin's legacy. He doesn't look pretty doing it, but he gets it done.

Everyone else has pretty much covered why his legacy is secure.

Hopkins-Taylor those two fights were dreadful.

They should've both been draws, or both been L's on both fighters records for lack of punches thrown and landed in 24 rounds.

DLH bout was at 156lbs. 2lbs above DLH's LMW division. WHich part of that do you not understand?
