Armstrong's accomplishments are unparalled bar none.

Pac's recent wins of 2008 are reminiscent of what Henry did back in the day. Nothing more, nothing less.

If Pac beats Cotto this year. I'm pretty sure he'll be a shoo-in for FoTY for the third time.

I never thought of Ross as being a shot or past prime fighter. He was 28 years old and certainly didn't show any signs in slowing down when he defended his title against Ceferino Garcia.

The fight against Armstrong wasn't even close. This is a top 25 ATG we are talking about (in my opinion) and he was the much bigger man.

It's always somebody else's fault when it comes to your precious Calzhage.

He more than likely low-balled the **** outta' Echols so he could fight Brewer.
you gotta understand that it is quite impossible for fighters today to achieve what the likes of homicide hank did in the day. for one thing, fighters back in the day don't weigh in 10-20 lbs above the weight class they are fighting in.

to be even compared is quite a compliment, and shows how great of a fighter manny pacquiao is.

I have never seen the fight so can't comment directly, but according to Douglas Century's biography "Barney Ross", Barney took the first few rounds and all of a sudden had nothing left and was massacred. Got old overnight, so to speak. Ross' brother George was quoted several times in the book and if memory serves thought Barney would have killed Armstrong if it was a year or two earlier. Any truth to this? and your opinion would be appreciated as always.

Good point about Ross being a top 25 p4p fighter all time. I should have taken that into consideration.

Linear Title = Ring Belt. The only way for you claim the Ring Belt is to beat the the best fighter in the division or #1 fighting the #2 Guy in the division.

Valero is a 2 divison Alphabet champ. Name 1 fighter on his resume worth mentioning. If you consider Valero's belt more accomplish than Pacquiao beating a prime Barrera in 2003, Marquez and Hatton for the Ring Belt, you're absurb.

C class fighters can get those sanctioned belts easily.

I thought Armstrong quite simply beat him down. Made it his type of a fight as he was always able to do.

I felt Ross's performance against Ceferino Garcia right before the Armstrong fight was brilliant, one of the best I've seen from him.

The film is a little sped up:

Yeah. The Ring policy is flawed like any policy will be, but overall I have respect for it.

Whether or not you consider it a "real" title, to put in context, you also have to take a look at whom he defeated for those belts to judge Pacquiao's spot in history.

Marco Antonio Barrera for the Ring belt at 126, Juan Manuel Marquez to fill a vacancy at 130, and Ricky Hatton @ 140.

That's quite different than say, Shannon Briggs, who would have been the Ring champ in 1997-98 if the policy were in effect at the time.

It just depends on the situation and time.

The Ring title is usually the lineal title. The light-heavyweight situation is different however.
