clottey really is a give me fight for paul williams to get exposure we all know winky is better that clottey and bigger and also use the same style in a southpaw stance paul williams will box the sh** out of him and possibly stop him ,I think PW might hit harder than cotto when he sits down if you compare the CQ fights you will understand why i say that and he's been fighting at higher weight classes

I think it could help him both ways. If he fights Sergei Dzinziruk
at 154 and wins a title in that division it definitely up his status
because prior to being a champ Sergei is an undefeated fighter
in that division so it definitely plays a big factor in that aspect.
Clottey could be good because if Paul was to destroy Clottey
(Which no one has) then it would make him more of a P4P
great because he would done what Cotto couldn't and that's
beat Clottey convincingly. I have no doubt that Paul Williams
would beat the crap out of Clottey just off the strength that
Clottey work rate offensively is weak at best and Paul wouldn't
give Clottey NO CHANCE to counter punch. I say either fight
for Paul is a + for his career.

but I think a Clottey fight/win wouldn't hurt considering Clottey
gave Cotto all kinds of problems and gain some respect in the
eyes of many specifically HBO because their behind the fight.
A convincing win over Clottey on HBO would help Paul for sure
because a lot of people felt Clottey was robbed in his fight with
Cotto. I have NO DOUBT that Paul would beat the S#!t out of
Clottey.

But for him to claim that Clottey is not of significance is absolutely ridiculous and makes him look bad and like he's ducking, especially as HBO is keen on financing the fight this time. Clottey is rated #3 at Welterweight by The Ring. Many respected boxing analysts thought Clottey did just enough to win against Cotto. Williams has been saying for ages that he is still a natural Welterweight and that he'll drop down to Welterweight the moment any of the top fighters agrees to fight him. He's also been saying that none of them will fight him because they're all too scared. Clottey is one of the top Welterweights, and he has called Williams' bluff. By trying to avoid a fight with Clottey now that Clottey has called him out, Williams looks like the biggest ***** since Felix the Cat. I hope HBO can talk some sense into him.

I agree with you that in any normal circumstances, Dzinziruk would also be a good opponent for him; but in these specific circumstances, if he fights Dzinziruk, it will look like he's blatantly ducking Clottey, and for that reason it will do his reputation nothing but harm.
