If he lands the fight with Pacquiao he probably won't even make that
much because Pacquiao is asking for 65/35.
If he stays at Jnr Middleweight or fights at Middleweight they'll never be put under any pressure to fight him, because many people don't even believe he is capable of fighting at Welterweight any more, and they'll see his refusal to fight Clottey as proof that he was just bluffing. And the longer he goes without fighting at Welterweight, the less credible his claims to still be capable of doing so will seem to most people.
So it comes down to how much he really wants those fights. If he is really serious about wanting them, then he needs to fight Clottey.
If he wants to establish himself at Jnr Middleweight, fine, he should just say so and quit pretending that he's still a Welterweight, and that none of the Welterweights will fight him.Last edited by Dave Rado; 07-06-2009, 06:38 AM.

Mosley would then be put under real pressure by HBO for the first time to fight Williams. So would Cotto (if he gets past Pac), and so would Mayweather.

Welter then fight Welter, if not, then just stay at the higher weights
and do your thing, don't continue to beef about not getting any fights
at 147........I see what your saying.

The same people would be calling Williams a coward and pressing for a fight if Williams was 40 years of age. In this case Clottey wouldn't even be mentioned. Sergei would win easy as expected and that would elevate him to ATG status for some reason. :S

When Williams offered Cotto a fight he held a belt.
When he offered Margarito rematch it was for the ring belt??
Williams gets more credit beating Dzinziruk. He has a belt and a better resume than Clottey. Who's best win till date is a past it Judah
