Does anyone bring up unification when discussing JCC vs Whitaker or the catch weight of 145? Riddle me that batman.

And again, the flipside to that is if Cotto or Mosley beat Pacman at 147, according to you they didn't beat him at his best which is 140. So that's quite the double standard you got going for yourself. Fuzzy logic man

No, I understand your point Robin.

      Riddle me this Robin.

Pacman beats THE UNIFIED champion in HIS weight class... is that better then beating ONE of the champions, UNDER their best weight?

It depends, right now in some ways, i am an advocate of linear champions defending their belts. This same issue frustrated me about mayweather when he retired, was that he didint defend his championship but 1 time after he won it. When he surrendered it, i didint care too much. But if winning the linear championship means something, then i think it should be defended, either that or surrender it, there is next to no clarity within welterweight and jr welter because of the champions chasing someone with practically no title on the line. Its somewhat of an annoyance because just like with mayweather, pacs very presence creates an atmosphere of people vying to get fights with him and in order to do so, must stick a handicap on themselves and in the end, it doesnt do much for their legacies because the guy is smaller than them.

At the very least pac should give up that title and just fight at these catchweights, either that, or fight these guys are their legit weights with their welterweight titles on the line.

At a catch weight neither man is at his best... If Pac feels he can beat Cotto or Mosley he should do so at their best..

If Mosley or Cotto beat Pac at anyweight... the excuses will be they were too big regardless.

If Pac beats Mosley or Cotto at 147, there will be no excuses. Below 147, there will be.

Pacman doesn't need belts at this point, he's going for legacy adding names on his resume. To quote joe, at the end of the day, if Pacman retires with everything he's done till now, then beats Cotto at 145 and/or Mosley at 145, then fights mayweather, that's ATG status, especially considering he's a little filipinio fighter that barely weighs in at 138 pounds.

in the long run does it make a difference whether the better fighter between Cotto and Mosley is established before or after Pacquiao beats one of them?

these are still monumental wins either way though... Mosley and Cotto have great name value

I like how you keep side stepping my question regarding JCC & Whitaker. Whitaker weighed in at 145. So he wasn't at his best because of the two pounds? Thought he put on a great show myself and easily won the fight...

The disadvantage with Pacman fighting Mosley & Cotto at 147 is on fight night Pacman is going to weigh about 148 whereas Cotto & Mosley will be 160+++. Regardless, I really don't care I got Pacman beating Cotto & Mosley at 143, 144, 145, 146, 147, 148, 149, and 150. But that's just me and Pacman/Roach have every right to demand cotto/mosley at a catchweight, it's only fair.

If he doesnt need belts then he should surrender the JWW Championship he has now and let people who actually plan on being in the division fight for it.

it takes two to tango here. people calling pac a cherrypicker for making them go down but how about cotto and mosely asking a smaller fighter to fight at 147.

Like how Mayweather held on to a belt for like 2 years without fighting a mandatory???
