In Manny Pacquiao's last major pay-per-view fight, in December vs. Oscar De La Hoya, he drew 1.25 million buys in the USA.
In Ricky Hatton's only PPV showing, in 2007 vs. Floyd Mayweather Jr., he drew 915,000.
What will be the result May 2, when the junior welterweights clash for the 140-pound championship before 17,000-plus at Las Vegas' MGM Grand Garden Arena? "Anything over 800,000 buys in the United States will be (a success)," says Bob Arum, chairman of Top Rank Inc., which promotes Pacquiao. "It looks like it will do as many or more than De La Hoya-Pacquiao."

I'm talking about the fanboys fascination with who makes the most money or gets the best viewing figures instead of who is actually the best. The fact that ****tards like you are more focused on viewing figures is just strange to me.Comment

That's probably in total buys from around the world. WWE touts their Wrestlemanias as doing into the 1 million buys area, WM24 they said did 1.2 millions buys, but in actuality the US buys alone was about 650k.Comment

NO, he didn't even close to what Oscar got, but I'm sure he did at least 2% better than Floyd against Oscar. And stop pulling out numbers out of your ass if you can't provide a link...Comment

I'm, guessing this fight did at least 600k in the UK also, so the numbers are actually pretty good, considering it's a fight not involving an American fighter.Comment

It would really be funny IF the official figure does reach 1 Million buys. Lots of posters in this thread will be eating their harsh words ...LOLComment

It's already reached 1 million buys. Just depends if you choose to count the UK numbers, which have not been released yet, but are undoubtedly high.Comment
