    So basically,

    you have none.

    I figured as much.

I cant think of too many fighters besides roy jones who have done this with success. Ill have to do some homework, anyone know of anyone else who started fighting around 155-160 and then gradually grew into a contender at the higher divisions?

I didn't claim to have any...

I said in recent times we've seen more fighters drained moving down than fighters suffer from moving up.

again, why even bother with official weigh ins if they're not as important as the unofficial weights?

          Both fighters in most instances,

          make the agreed upon weight.

But its not really important is it.
That does not imply that I think it is of no importance, I just take more consideration into what fighters weigh during the actual fight.

But you said yourself, its less important which takes away from the value of having an official weigh in.

                So, why even bother?

As long as he weighs 160 at the official weigh in time,

                  whats the problem?

Because he is not fighting at that weight , you cant see the advantage of drying out to be a little guy and then to be the huge guy in the fight , the fight weight is all important when evaluating fighters real size at the weight , you guys talk **** about weight , like Hatton was never beat at JnrW , what did he way with Floyd what did he weigh with Pac 152 the same ,,, JMM steps in at 144 Floyd steps in at around 148 , there is not much between them nothing like the fools in here are trying to put out .

I would prefer that they do an official weigh in closer to the time of the fight, but as I'm sure you know it was deemed unsafe and now we have the 24 hour weigh ins. The unintended problem of this is guys blowing up, but we still need an official weigh in don't we? The weights during the official weigh ins often don't represent the actually weights of the fighters during the fight, so my answer to your question is official weigh ins are very important and necessary but the system is not perfect. I prefer to base my opinion on what guys actually weigh during the actual fight, I don't see what is wrong with that.
