Boxing is a performance sports that involves reflexes, dexterity and speed. Going out of your natural weight will affect all those factors whether your healthy or not. Weight drained fighters are result of poor discipline. Dela Hoya vs Pac is a different issue since oscar is 20lbs below his natural weight so its definitely the risk he took to earn $30 million.

It doesn't mean you can't perform on a high level. Wouldn't you agree?

So we ought to just not have official weigh ins since it its not as important, right?

Provide some examples of people who put on too much weight.

                Agree.

Alot of fighters start out in the light divisions before they fully mature . It's not a huge deal to go from 130 to 150 over the course of 10 years. It's a natural process.

It seems tough to start as a middleweight, then ending your career as a cruiserweight.

Why are you directing the question at me? I was claiming fighters who were drained. And Ricky Hatton balloons up and comes back down=unhealthy. Roy Jones went up and down too many times and it hurt him eventually.

Baldomir claims he had trouble making weight against Floyd. He was 147 at the weigh-in and went all the way up to 162 or so fight night. And he looked like a snail(and he's slow to begin with).

                    You just said

and we have to consider what both will weigh on fight night to me that is much more important than a weigh in a day before.

again, why even bother with official weigh ins if they're not as important as the unofficial weights?

                    Both fighters in most instances,

                    make the agreed upon weight.

But its not really important is it.

I was asking you. Hopkins went from 160 middleweight to light heavy and put a beating on Tarver. The answer is obvious.
