In all honesty, Manny Pacquiao is the face of boxing.

Oscar maybe, but Floyd???? Get out. Manny is more popular than Floyd now. Globally it was never a comparison to begin with. But in the USA now, it's Manny. HANDS DOWN. The guy is in time magazine 100 most influential people. They talked about this fight on cnn. There was a seize fire to a civil war in the Phillipines for his fights. He's a fresh of breath air to the sport and he IS carrying the torch.

Bro. I'm from the States, and I don't agree with that. Mayweather tries to sell himself like a whore on the streets, and does anything to get his face in the mix (hence him using Manny's fame to announce a comeback). Look at the websites, sports networks, radio, and people on the streets. Manny Pacquiao has captivated the global audience. The PPV buys from this fight will show you that Manny sells more than Mayweather IN America even though his English isn't the best, and he doesn't ********** himself on Jay Leno. Oh yeah did I forget to mention that we are in a recession.

He is pushing himself and trying to achieve greatness. How can anyone knock that? Look at all the people who complain that fighters are cherry picking and reconsider your comment. Even if he fails against top Welterweights, that's OK. Here's a guy who already went up by 41 pounds since he started. That's like a Lightweight going up to Light Heavyweight.

Pacquiao's legacy is sealed already. If he wants to take the risks, believes he can win and better himself, more power to Manny.

Oscar, no. Mayweather, yes. Pacquiao is more popular, and over the next year or two it will become more apparent. Then he probably ends up as president of the Philippines. LOL.

You are counting the weight changes since he was 16 years old.

The biggest difference is Manny appeals to the masses. All you hear floyd talk about is money, or bad mouthing someone, or curse words, or flashing ***ellery. I mean that's floyd. But they don't get an more humble, more geniune, more sincere, more professional, more religious or want to please the audience more than Manny. That cannot be debated. That is why Pac IS the face of boxing. Did floyd ever get this kind of hoopla after de la hoya? NO, nobody wants to remember that fight. After Hatton? NO. Look at Manny's hype after his 2 wins over the same fighters and sorry its no comparision. Bottom line is Manny is more likeable as a person and the casual fan can relate to Manny and his story more than they can Floyd.

This is all referring to US popularity. Globally it's never been close, Pacman stops wars in his country. End of story.

Soooo, we can expect the domestic PPV buys to be over 900K. Right?

Because just six months ago, Manny-Oscar did HALF of what Floyd-Oscar did.

If Manny-Hatton does less than Floyd-Hatton, what does that say?

Get the hell out of here! Pac is my man but he is not known outside of boxing like Mayweather. His stock is rising but Floyd just saying he's returning has created a major buzz. That **** was major news on ESPN and every sports channel. Pac is liked more but not as popular
