In all honesty, Manny Pacquiao is the face of boxing.

are you kidding me. why do you think boxers from other countries that are scared stay away from American boxers?
It is also Cotto and Mosley that want to fight Pacquiao to gain a big money fight. Since they are going to be bigger than Pacquiao, it seems reasonable for them to meet Pacquiao at a catchweight.

I think Roach really wants to limit how much weight Cotto/Mosley gain on the night of the fight. I don't know how much weight Cotto/Mosley gain on fight night, but Pacquiao has consistenly rehydrated to 148 pounds versus Hatton and De La Joya. I really doubt Cotto or Mosley would come anywhere near that weight on the night of the fight.

Of course Pacquiao's legacy would be a lot better if he faced them straight up at Cotto's and Mosley's natural weight. A lot would be stacked against Pacquiao in this scenario but if he managed to win, it would really elevate his status as a top fighter.

Back on topic, Pacquiao is really great for the sport because of all the casual fans he attracts. Most may forget about boxing altogether after a Pacquiao fight, but a few might become more hardcore boxing fans and that is always great for the sport.

I would say that in most Asian countries with all their large populations, the Pacman is more well known than Mayweather or ODLH. Even in this part of the world with all the publicity he has already received, especially in Mexico, I believe the Pacman's popularity has surpassed that of Mayweather. JAT

Floyd has been seen on mainstream tv, latenight shows and when you speak of boxing no matter what the weight class, the name Mayweather would always come up. Go ask your every day joe if they heard of Mayweathwr or Pacman, I bet Floyds name would be the one they know. Pac's popularity has risen but he is not known outside of boxing like Mayweather.
          OMG are you crazy?
