I think Lennox didn't give the rematch for several reasons.

    1. After beating tyson the desire went.
    2. He was getting old and knew it was time to retire
    3. He beat Vitali, Vitali knew a cuts stoppage was on the way, he had a chance to go all out and try get lewis out of there and he failed miserably.
    4. he was booed, seriously....booed? I bet he thought **** you ill leave the division and oh how you will miss me (he was right there)
    5. Vitali didn't even earn the shot, he was a late replacement, he got the worst version of lewis ever seen and lost to him, why give him a rematch?

Are they certain a punch caused the eye cut? If so, they should have checked Lennox's gloves.

I remember Lennox twisted his glove on Vitali's cheek causing the other cut. And Lewis was hitting repeatedly while holding Vitali's arm, and the ****** ref never said anything.

It all depends. I think Vitali did a lot for his legacy with this little comeback. He doesnt have much left in the tank, though.
Wladimir absolutely CAN go down as a great, its a matter of what he does with himself. I think he needs to start lining these hype jobs up and knocking them out. Take out Haye in impressive fashion, after Haye, take out Arreola in impressive fashion, after that, blast Povetkin. If he can keep this streak he has going rolling for a few more years, WITHOUT ducking the major comp, he will be held in high regard by future generations.

What a joke of a comment. As far as i can see european fighters overall are more successfull and hold a lot more belts than american fighters and have done for quite a while. If it was the other way around im sure it would be rammed down the rest of the worlds throat daily

If you can get past your bias you can clearly see there are many "boring" american fighers too, but actually they are called "clever" instead.

Your last post was too ridiculous and wrong on so many levels that I didn't even bother to reply. But this one I gotta say something.

Being that you said that, it makes you about as ignorant as James Toney who should have retired like 5 years ago. He couldn't even beat a one dimentional brawler like Sam Peter. What makes you or him think that he could compete with a Klitschko. It's ridiculous.

You're a nationalistic ******* like too many people on here. You are a poor example of an American.

                    Some interesting picture here http://allboxing.ru/img/Klitschko_Gomez.jpg

One thing is certain - if Klitschko have so many fans and haters there is thomething special about them. If not, they would have been indifferent to people.
As for Vitali, he is clever and determined fighter with no fear and win-at-all-cost attitude. Real Champion in true meaning of this word - campion "fighter". Such people allways on top - they just don't learn how to lose. So I risk to conclude that he would achieve recognition in any era. Realy clever fearless fighters are rare thing to happen.

                    P.S.
And respect for Chase for his decent conduct at the forum. Decent people are even more rare than champions.
