The heavyweight division sucks, even if the Klits defeat all contenders from now until 2014, which is unlikely, there isn't enough quality for them to even be considered top 20 ATGs.

So, if Ali was 35 years younger (fighting now in this considered "suck" division), he would newer be recognised as ATG?

He wouldn't be a top 20 ATG because the big fights that turned him into one would have never happened. Ali in the modern heavyweight division would be a big fish in a small pond, overlooked due to lack of good opponents.

With a few exceptions history's more dominate heavyweights are often heavily criticized in their own time and labeled as inferior to the ones that came before. In most recent times Holmes, Lewis, and amazingly even "Pre-Tyson fight" Holyfield were **** upon without mercy during their heyday. Amazing how the fans and media can continue to fall into the same trap over and over again. It won't be until Wlad and Vitali are long retired before we can properly measure their success. Wlad could get blasted out again, Vitali's body could go, or they can continue to dominate until they retire.

The "experts" will just say their opponents are no good, no matter who they beat.

Right now there's a lot of excitement about David Haye, but he'll be despised and called a bum (the way Ray Austin and all the others were) after Wlad KOs him.
This is unfortunately very true! The self hatred of many in the media and also many message board posters is sickening...

Dunno about ATG as in ranked among the top 10-15 HW's, but the Klitschko's due to the brother dynamic, and the fact that they have basically run the Heavweight division since Lewis retired will be remembered for quite awhile.

IMO I dont know what the problem with the contact between DH and WK is. Ok so if he beats WK he has to rematch him.... and shouldnt the champion get a rematch for his belt? Or he would fight VK instead. Then he could possibly unify the belts further. If not then VK unifies the belt..... then the more dominant(imo more dangerous)brother would just need one more belt and by that time he would be the consensus linear champ. If DH is competitve then bring the 3rd match around but if hes blown out the water then look at it this way..VK is officially "THE" champ at HW and then everybody can stop bitching about who the man is supposed to be.

ATGs do not get KTFO by Ross Purrity.

He did'nt get KTFO by Purrity. He took a couple of good shots late in the fight and his corner threw in the towel.
