The posters who are saying he's ready to fight a top 5 contender, or Prescott, or Marquez, are delusional. He needs several more learning fights against gradually improving opposition before he even thinks of fighting the elite.
I think he's ready for someone just outside world class like David Diaz or an Alex Arthur now, and that he should fight someone like that next. Maybe in 3 fights time, with continual improvement under Roach, he might be ready to outbox Prescott. Maybe in 5 fights time, he might be ready to face the likes of Marquez. If Warren rushes him faster than that, he'll destroy his career, IMO.
It was sad to see an ATG lose in that way, but Barrera didn't have to come out of retirement, it was his choice. The fight won't harm his legacy, he's still one of the greatest Mexican fighters of all time.
